Could anything tempt Calzaghe out his well earned retirement?

Basically how I worked it out too. If he ever did come back. That scenario is the only thing I could imagine.

Calzaghe won't come back. He is very honest about himself, after the Kessler fight he said at his age he is beginning to slip and that fighting on like Holyfield getting his head punched in isn't an option. His style depends so much on speed, the first thing to fade with age. He is happy in retirement. End of story.

I am biased towards the aggressor too. And on top of that I hate Hopkins.

But JC was too ineffective in that fight.

I believe even punch stats show Hopkins landed more.

Many who don't know how to score a fight, and are American, the majority saw Joe easily won.

If Kessler goes on to win the super 6, Kessler will be his biggest name, seeing as Hopkins only beat up on blown up WW's, though he was prime when he fought Joe, so it was a very good win.

Thats incorrect. The compubox stats showed that Calzaghe hit hopkins more times than any of his previous opponents.

    wrong.

grr the stats didnt show as I intended, Calzaghe by some distance out landed hopkins in all but 3 rounds.

Even in power punches, and jabs landed was insane for Joe.

    Good Post.

  10. Why would anyone want to? The guy was an overrated slapper who hid out in his backyard for 10 + years. Glad he's gone.

Thats was how I remembered it. I definately remember them saying that the compubox stats showed that joe hit him more times than any of his other opponents.

Hopkins was offered £3 million in an open paper back in 02-03

He went on and had his next fight for 100 grand.

And funny how it took up and till his 10th fight for someone to make it through the first round (he only slapped when he was inclose to overwhelm fighters and to peserve his hands, he could still load up when he wanted to and hit kessler with some monsters)!

Who else is out there that is old and shot? Maybe he will fight Tommy Hearns at cruiser and tell everyone that proves hes p4p the best.

Maybe he will fight glen johnson but he doesnt meet his age requirements yet. Wait for glen to prove he is shot then he will fight him.

Only people who are seriously biased, can't score or people who think spoiling and feigning injury think hopkins won that fight :patsch
