    Katsidis forces Marquez to fight


    Michael Katsidis, the tough Aussie chasing Manny Pacquiao, has been named WBO boxer of the month for his win over Vicente Escobedo and will try to to force his mandatory shot at WBO lightweight champion Juan Manuel Marquez.
    Katsidis outpointed Escobedo to capture the interim-title on the undercard of Marquez’s bout with Floyd Mayweather Jr. on September 19.


    “Sh*t or get off the pot. Fight me or give up the title,” Katsidis said.

    Katsidis’ agent Sampson Lewkowicz said that either Marquez agrees to the fight or vacates his title [which in turn makes Katsidis the full champion].

    “The champion can not stop the career of Michael Katsidis. If he doesn’t want to fight him, then give up your title and let Michael continue his career. Don’t put a stop on Michael Katsidis’ career. If he doesn’t want to fight, we will fight the proper opponent or challenger who is acceptable to HBO and Golden Boy Promotions,” Lewkowicz said.




    looks like Kat wants Marquez next.wants to win the title off the actual champion.good luck Mick:good

    Hes chasing Pacman? He will NEVER get a shot, not even IF he beats Marquez. Pac would make easy work of Katsidis every day of the week.

    As for a fight v Marquez, Marquez TKO Rnd 8.

    I think JMM, should take the fight, maybe give it some time, around may would be a godd date, it gives JMM a bit of time off after the mayweather fight.

    Nothing wrong with kats people calling out Marquez. It's drumming up some interest.

    Problem for them is...Marquez has got 18 months to defend.

    Had to vote for JMM, as much as I like Katsidis I can't see too much of a chance. Would be a ******* though, both would give it a good go.

    I dont mind this fight for rocky.....its a win win for him provided he doesnt grt hurt bad or KTFO in the first 6 rounds.

    As long as he looks good and gives it a real shot it wont do him any harm.

    It will be a great payday for him and if he does look good the big fights will keep coming :good

    A loss to JMM is ok for rocky and he may just give JMM a shake:yep

    i dont know why kat wants a fight with pacman? money? cause he isnt winning that fight.

    JMM fight is also bad for him, he should just keep busy and wait for a chance to get more belts.

    id be happy with him fighting hatton but i doubt hatton could make 140 anymore.

    I say go for it and good luck to him,no point in waiting round for a crack at a vacant title,or taking an easy route like some.Katsidis wants to fight the best, and to be the best you have to beat the best(or try)and that i admire in a boxer,should all be like him..top bloke:good

    i agree about Pac but he keeps calling him out.maybe him and his team see a weakness they can exploit which everybody else in the world cant.but good on him for trying to fight the best.Pac has more bigger,lucrative fights on the horizon anyway.
