Cotto's going to jab the sh*t out of Pacquiao for about 7 rounds & then lay him out

Cotto's actually got one of the best jabs in the business and never gets credit for it. He will after this fight. :deal

Then why make a thread saying 'Cotto never gets credit for his jab' when there is already a hundred topic's on this fight, all filled with talk about Cotto's jab.

 

You do realise it's incredibly hard to consistently out-jab a quick southpaw aswell, right?

 

Cotto jab + timing = :rofl

 

But Pac isn't a conventional southpaw (ie: doesn't fall into the "slippy-southpaw" bracket), and Cotto's jab is a ramrod. I don't see the change of angle being much of a problem. Cotto shoots it out and brings it back in straight away; he's a smart ****er.

 

Never mind that Pacquiao and Roach have always been able to take away the jab from fighters that rely on it a lot, not just by being a southpaw that carries a high guard, but also by timing and countering the **** out of jabs. Don't believe me? See Ledwaba, Morales, De La Hoya, etc...

Cotto can't rely on the jab against Pacquiao.

 

I think he might have a problem with a fully-fledged WW's jab (taking into account DLH's physical state at the time of their contest), especially when its delivered by an exponent of the jab like Cotto.

Cotto needs to establish the jab if he has any chance of victory.

If he doesn't establish the jab then Pac can just buzz around him, landing at will.
