The scoring in that fight was odd to say the least, especially the 118-110 card, given that Mathews had been knocked down in the first and had two points deducted, but he did win the fight handily...I really don't know what the **** our Jocko cousins whack on about

The scorecards were definitely dodgy and the sad thing is they detract from the fact that 1) Derry definitely did enough to win and 2) John Simpson had 'arrived'. It was a fantastic night at the old Olympia in Liverpool, probably my best boxing night in recent years.
john was british champion going into that fight so i think he had already 'arrived' before he fought derry just hadnt been given the exposure the likes of derry had cause he wasnt a so-called '[world champion' The reason i dont like derry is nothing to do with his comments about his fight with john its his comments on most other fights but thats what a forums about is it not difference in opinion? just cause he is a boxer doesnt mean i have to agree with eerything he says

Shame some of the boxers have just faded off tbh dont see much of Frankie Gavin anymore I hope Bellew stays because he is brilliant for this forum. For some reason lots more pro's post on the boxrec forums as well as promoters and people in the boxing business.
