Ron Lyle vs Prime Tua

I'd go with the Tuaman. Especially against the post Foreman version of Lyle. The earlier version was better but he still was outboxed by others and that Quarry defeat was a big loss in a high profile bout. Lyle might be ahead on the scorecards, but I think tua catches him late like he did with lots of other guys for a late stoppage. The Lyle footwork is not going to keep Tua away and tua is real dangerous against anyone standing in front of him a whole fight. Some more mobility would really help the Lyle chances & I don't like his habit of backing himself to the ropes and fighting off the ropes for long periods of time against this guy.

I don't think Lyle's stamina or durability is enough to withstand Tua's super late round power and he'd get stopped sooner or later.

 

It depends what Tua enters the ring the slow fat version was as slow as can be and lacked snap...The more fit version was able to land and counter...Lyle was not really a big puncher but had power...Lyle was somewhat sound as a boxer but was pretty much dominated by Jerry Quarry in his prime and struggled when he moved up. Tua can not be counted out because of power and I could see him catching and stopping Lyle like he did Rahman but I can Tua being outworked and outworked like he did vs Rahman in the rematch. I had Tua ahead vs IKE but that was an in shape and fit Tua

 

Tua by stoppage. Lyle isn't outboxing him and he isn't knocking him out, so that doesn't leave much elsewhere for him to go.

 

Lyle could KO him however his chin is a question mark to me, the way he folded v.s. Ali ..
