I agree with the sentiment around here that any tourney at 140 that doesnt include Bradley is null and void. It be like having a LHW tourney without Dawson, or a MW tourney without Pavlik. If your objective is to make the top fighter in the division known, you need to include the fighter who most feel is the top fighter in said division.

I really like the four that are included, or rumored to be included...but Bradley and the winner of Diaz - Malinaggi should be the last two in.

    Bradley
    Diaz/Malinaggi
    Ortiz
    Maidana
    Khan
    Alexander

Think about it...what two names stand out the most?

Im not saying its not a cool lil thing and ill be watching with interest but it is what it is, a little box off between prospects....

and again, lol... ill be watching with interest, and im happy its made, as the winners will gain some weight within the division.

    i hope this gets made.

i think people are getting too cought up in that it doesnt have bradley. Seems to me this is just a lil box off to help clear up some of the loose ends at 140.... if it was a legit and true 140lb tourny it would have guys like Malignaggi, Bradley, Holt, Torres, ect.... hell even Urango.

as long as HBO sells this as a prospect box off, im good..... and dont try to bill it as some sort of 'crowning of the champ' bs.....

Agreed 100%. I think it would be BETTER if they had more fighters, and some of the "better" fighters listed in this thread, but as is I'd still watch it. I mean, why not?

I'm all for more of these types of mini-tourneys and stuff getting made. One of my biggest complaints about the state of boxing is that there's a lot of confusion in the ranks. Things like this may do very well to clear that up a bit.

Im fine with that as well...but lets be honest, this thing isnt going to be billed that way. I still give HBO a ton of credit for attempting to do something different, and no doubt will it be good and will give a great boost to the sport. All I am saying is, they will attempt to crown the winner as the best at 140 and without Bradley in it, that is just impossible.

Khan's gonna clean this tournament up. The only one I'd be worried about is Bradley whose been conducting his own version of the tournament by trying to fight everyone and everybody over the last year and a half.

    What?

Khan's not even gonna enter it or face a puncher for the rest of his existence.

Maidana beat Ortiz and is the champ...if anything, he gets in there first. Id rather see Ortiz than Torres though. In fact, I can think of 2 or 3 others that would fit better than Torres IMO.
