With Hatton mentioning a return to the ring, the question gets posed: Who is a worthy enough opponent?

Obviously your top tier guys like Pac and Cotto and Floyd are the targets... but shouldnt he start with the B+ or A- guys?

For instance... if he wants a fight with Marquez- wouldn't it be wise to take a fight against Juan Diaz first to get some Mexican hype against a small opponent?

If he wants a fight against Floyd- perhaps a rematch with Malignaggi to warm up to a speedy opponent?

If he wants Cotto... shouldnt he get in a fight with a silverback guerilla first? :)

Seriously though, he mentioned a couple of fighters that could get him out of retirement, but I think he will need a tune up similar to the fighter he hopes to payout with... Your thoughts?

hatton wont go after cotto at 147 although he did say he wanted to fight cotto at 140 when they were both there as he said cotto has no heart,(proved otherwise v clottey)
imo with the right trainer and maybe a warm up fight he could still do something in the lw wws division i mean collazo i think was closer to beating berto than he was hatton(bar the 12th round) and berto is ww champ, imo hatton will jump straight in at the deep end and see what happens, maybe hatton v pbf in wembley next year after pbf has dealt with the winner or pac cotto, with the hatton fight being pbfs last

Hatton needs to fight someone not that good to see where he is at, he lost to 2 of the best fighters, one of them was a good fight and the other he just got caught.

It is hard to say if he is totally shot, I think he should make at least 1 last run

Were the rumours true regarding him being weight drained at 140? Because we're still not sure what weight he'll come back.

At 140 his choice of opponents are deep and safe, and he can make his return against a notable A or a B level fighter. However the neighborhood's not so nice up in 147, and I seriously doubt he'll go within 100 hundred yards of someone like Cotto.

He needs a confidence builder first

I got a feeling it'll be Marquez. He seriously needs to think about what weight its at though, i mean the size of him now makes you think how he ever made 140, and if he does it again i feel it'll only do him damage. By the time he actually gets in the ring might be 12 months and to be the size he is for about 10 months itll be so hard for him shrink his body back down to size. He's done it before i know but he was fat for only about 3 months or so and therefore his body structure hadnt really increased he just had some excess fat and so easier to rid.

Peronally i wanna see him call it a day.

The only place Hatton should be returning to is the pub or the refrigerator. He's done as a boxer.

i pretty much class these as his list of possible opponents
Juan manuel Marquez - both coming of one sided defeats, both reguarded as top fighters ( or were) and both can be box office. both guys would be happy to do the deal at 140 and dont think money would be an issue.
Tim Bradley - probably top guy at jnr welter at min, not biggest name but dosnt need to be as hatton sells well enough on his own.
Amir Khan - battle of Britain, could sell out wembley, both draw good crowds, both highly marketable, on the negative side warren could be a problem
Floyd Mayweather - the guy would love to fight at Wembley, Floyd will see it as a minimum risk fight, hatton would jump at the chance of rematch, both guys draw and would make a lot of money
Juan Diaz/Paulie Malignaggi winner - could class it as a tune up against a well respected opponent, hatton always sells well, malignaggi already said he would like a rematch, diaz would fight for the payday
Manny Pacquaio - depends on how he fares against Cotto, if he looses badly then a rematch could be signed with hatton claiming mayweather snr was a **** trainer blah blah blah

OPTION 1: Collazo ( we all know Collazo won)
    OPTION 2: Diaz/ Malignaggi winner

hatton & collazo won 6 rounds each in that fight ricky won the fight by 1 point due to the 10-8 in round 1,so dont make out it was some robbery.

he should definetly fight someone whos is on the feather fisted side, thats for sure. dont wanna go in there with someone with a decent ko ratio. I'd say he should hang em up though. Not becuase i think hes terrible or a fraud. Just because those 2 KO's were vicious...chin is cracked. If he does come back i say he takes atleast 2 fights with B- or lower level guys.

This is huge news for boxing.

I would like to see Hatton take on the elite WelterWeights. He has already conquered Light WelterWeight.
