You Europeans are honestly out of your minds. Holmes was one of the 4 or 5 greatest heavies in the history of the sport. To believe that Haye would have a chance in hell of getting past the best heavyweight jab in history when he was getting tagged by Barrett's paltry jab is a joke. Come back to reality or learn a least a bit about boxing history before you post.

This is one of the most pathetic threads I've ever seen on ESB. Do people here even know anything about boxing? Larry Holmes: one of the greatest HWs ever. Haye: fought an aged Monte Barrett and had his work cut out for him. What else is there to say. Sad how little boxing 'fans' know about boxing.

 

When has Haye ever faced an elite fighter, much less a natural elite Heavyweight who is considered an ATG.


Haye's KO's are over B class opposition. We are not talking about the faded Holmes that lost to Tyson, we are talking about the guy who got up from a punch that would stretched Haye out for a week and won the fight, prime! Larry Holmes.

Holmes was not invincible, he went the distance and struggled with some guys I think Haye would KO, just because he was a great HW doesn't mean he couldn't get KO'd by a guy with good skills, excellent quickness and good power. My opinion is that Haye would beat him and unless you are related to Holmes I don't understand why you take it so personally.

You should give up Boxing if you think Haye would beat a prime Larry Holmes, he has never!! even shared the ring with an elite fighter, let alone an elite HW, most of the guys you are probably talking about came at the tail end of Holmes's career when he was old.

Im sorry but how does a guy go from beating Monte Barrett to being able to handle Larry Holmes. Shavers would of put Haye in a coffin, fact!!

 

How is stating something emphatically taking it personally? Holmes is an all time great...can we agree on that? If we can, to seriously entertain the possibily that a just who isn't even a great in a weak ear is preposterous. Sure, anyone can beat anyone in heavyweight boxing. But the odds of Haye beating Holmes, if it could actually happen, are slim and none. :yep

 

Because real boxing fans revere the sport and the great fighters throughout its history. Holmes was a great fighter. Haye is not. And to even suggest that Haye would be able to compete, or worse, beat one of the greatest HWs ever is offensive, if only because of its utter ignorance of boxing and boxing history.
