    You must not watch boxing. Our N.American neighbors put on quite lively events quite frequently and in Europe they regularly have over 10,000 for events.

    American fighters "travel" far more than our european friends give them credit for. Case in point: When Paul Williams fought Antonio Margarito in Los Angeles, Paul was aproximately 3200 miles from home, surrounded by a "foriegn culture," and fighting in front of a "hostile" crowd.

    The USA is a vast and culturally diverse country. For an American fighter traveling doesn't mean leaving the country.

    yeah.....but.....americans never have to go into the dragons den do they? they never have to go into a truly hostile enviroment and test themselves, its always home turf.

    That is correct. For example, Shane Mosley fighting Miguel Cotto in New York. Zab Judah fighting Cory Spinks in St. Louis. Bernard Hopkins fighting Felix Trinidad in New York. Etc. Etc. The only true neutral field is when fights take place in Vegas.

    Ok so when has RJJ for example had to go to another country and walk into the lions den? For instance like Lacy had to for Calzaghe and anyone who fought Hhatton in Mnachester, when has RJJ fought infront of a crowd that hostile?

    Everywhere he went people loved him because he was the best of a generation ...

    Why should he have gone and fought Calzaghe in England when he was p4p#1? Calzaghe should have come to states and fought him here, financially it made no sense to fight in England either. Instead JC waited till RJJ was only a shell of his former self, and then he was willing to come to US to fight him.

    It would be nice to see more fights abroad. European fights do tend to draw a larger crowd. But it would be nice to see fighters travel all over like back in the day fighting in different countries.
