Firstly Haye had a year between fighting Enzo and Barrett, secondly he was cut to **** for the Enzo fight with an extremely low body fat %. His face has filled out slightly because he is no longer quite as cut because he doesnt have to make the 200lb limt anymore. I dont believe from looking at his physique he has ever used steroids.

The pics with enormous weight gain looking like they photoshopped Hayes head onto a bodybuilders body were floating around just 3-4 months after the Enzo fight. And he had an unhealthy wax look to his skin.

And it's NOT "easy" to put functional muscles on. That is a slow, cumbersome process of getting the right kind of muscle, without losing athletic skills.

No actually my first post was that all of us who have worked out and dieted properly have put on muscle before. However we didn't put on 40lbs of muscle in a year. That is physically impossible without the aid of steroids.

Simply put he has the tell tale signs of a steroid user. His face shape, particularly his jaw line, has changed. His muscles are considerably larger and bulkier, while maintaining relatively the same body fat percentage, than they were before.

Fair play's, we'll agree to disagree on this one. I from personal experience believe Haye's physique is a natural one down to hard training and a spot on diet. I would say his body fat % is around 10% now whereas at Cruiserweight was around the 8% mark.

I have nothing against Haye, I just remember when he used to train down here all the time as he went to the same gym as I a number of times and I just thought something seemed off, as did a fair number of other regulars (including fighters). I was a huge fan of weightlifting and boxing at the same time too, had a great diet and actually used the same supplements that David did as far as Muscle Milk and the like, but where he put on 30-40lbs I put on 10-12 a year, and I was lifting heavier weights than he did. It is what it is in my opinion, Holyfield did it, we know Shannon Briggs has done it, and quite a few others have cycled when they didn't have a fight coming up. It is all a question of training. Haye and Shannon do a lot of weights, as such if they are using steroids it exagerates their effect. On the flip side a lot of fighters who do cycle don't do weights.

Why is it so hard to believe that someone who has a job requiring them to TRAIN ALL THE TIME can put on such muscle mass? Why are we trying to knock a heavyweight that actually wants to look after themselves for once?

Acaldemb - when did Haye put on 30-40lbs in a year? Was this when his biggest weight increase between fights was around 15lb?? Even so, if he did manage to put on 2-3 stone WHEN TRYING TO BULK UP and you only put on 10-12lb, remember it's not all about strength and training, diet plays a massive role in bodybuilding

KMan - 'At times it looks as if something is wrong with his knees or hip joints, for example when stretching in the corner'. You're kidding? A professional boxer has problems with his joints when he's required to put so much pressure on them during training? No way. Don't believe it.

Without adding conjencture to the argument, Haye said he would be around 220 or so for the Wlad fight. We saw how he looked during the Setanta promo that was filmed outside in Cyprus about 4 weeks before the fight was scheduled - pretty flabby. Considering the 220 point, he must have been around 225-230. Is it really that hard to believe he's achieved this without steroids when he's competed and look so ripped at 200 for all these years? He's 6"3 and 220 for christ's sake - hardly comparable with Shannon Briggs (260lbs and 6"4).
