It would have to be highlight reel, hopefully with Valuev flopping over the top rope and into the crowd...that should make people sit up and pay attention

If Haye can win it, why shouldn't Froch?! I think the Pascal win counts as a this yr, because it must be after the voting ends for last, Taylor then ahem Dirrell ahem!!Must be a winner!

the sooner people stop caring about this **** award the better. As for Haye's chances of winning it, most of you are being a tad naive here, what you must realise is..IT'S ALL ABOUT VISIBILTY! if Haye fought on terestrial then he'd walk it, i think Khan would've had a chance of winning it had that kotelnik fight been on "free tv"

Millions where watching the racing thing whereas a few thousand will see Haye do his thing and thats the difference, bottom line!

remember when the sports personality was a actual valued award and the ceremonies had a bit of class and proper sporting knowledge

for example giving the international star of the year to evander holyfield over micheal johnson. nowadays the bbc is way too pr conscious and prefer all inclusive bull**** to give a boxer that award imo. what are the chances the pacman will get the award? none.

haye would be a shout for it if he wins, but his approach leading up to the fights wouldnt sit well with tv producers to a sunday night national show. if he wins and doesnt get it, lets hope he misses out to something completely ridiculous

Haye will go into the cow's mouth and come out the other end as fecal matter.

True and it would be a shame......as Haye wins a version of the heavyweight title (one of the hardest feats in all of sport).

Harder than to win a title in Tennis, football and many other sports.

Good picks and reasoning on the domestic trophy.

I personally wouldn't have a problem with Bolt winning the overseas one over Pac.

any british fighter who wins a world heavyweight title should automatically win SPOTY.it won't happen though while we've got minority events like show-jumping,motor sports etc etc.
carl fogarty said there was a cospiracy against him one year when lennox lewis got SPOTY and not him.:roll:

    Lol at the boxing bias.

Personally I think Jess Ennis deserves it most, came back from injury and the disappointment of missing the olympics emphatically. Haye hasn't fought all year so he doesn't deserve it even if he does win against valuev.

Absolutely no footballers deserve to be anywhere near the top 10.

ok chris, how many people ,world wide have the chance to compete in F1.
or,how many people in this country have the chance to compete in F1.
its a money thing and it is a minority past-time.
ennis and idowu would definitely stand a chance in SPOTY.
the 100 metres champion is another one who should win automatically .
    its a blue ribband event.
f1,like golf, show jumping and chess is a minority event
