cotto training......video inside!

I actually looked this video. Say whatever you want but I see him sharp and accurate. You can also see him making some nice combinations. I am not a boxing expert but there are some things in the video I noticed:

1. They have definitely worked on that uppercut.

2. The jab will be there all night long

3. There are a couple of times where you can see in the video that they have definitely worked on throwing that jab and quickly ducking Pacquiao's right hook.

Again I am no expert but it is nice to see. Don't Know about him being "SLOW" cause there are many combinations in there with "Marquez-type" speed or better which are more than capable on landing cleanly on Pacquiao. I think some people are comparing Pacquiao's speed to that of Cotto and we definitely know Pac is faster, but you cannot ignore the fact that Cotto will definitely be putting his shots in. I have said it before: Cotto is far superior in terms of boxing technique and fundamentals than Pacquiao. Not to mention that he is the bigger/stronger guy (Not tall-wise but you can definitely see Cotto is bigger). Speed alone does not win fights, you need fundamentals, Pacquiao does not have them. He is a great athlete nonetheless (Do not know if it is written like that).

That said GO COTTO!! but may the best man win come Nov.14th

 

LOL both boxers have flaws. BTW what flaws did you see in Manny?

 

They seem to be training very intelligent, it's obvious Cotto is going to be the boxer/counter-puncher in this fight.

First Marquez is faster than Cotto and Marquez is a counter-puncher. Marquez relies on timing. Oh btw, I`m not just comparing Cotto`s speed to Pacquiao`s speed. I`m comparing it to other boxer`s speed too. I`m not hating on Cotto. I`m just making a decent observation. If you think that that was good performance from Cotto then OK. :bbb

First, we agree to disagree on the speed then. I do believe he is as fast.

Second, nowhere in my argument did I state you are hating on Cotto.

Third, Cotto does know counter-punching. Not as well as Marquez but a very good counter-puncher nonetheless. He also has very good timing.

Cotto can mix it up also. He can turn the pressure in, which I think is his forte (More because that's what he started doing later in his career) or can switch to boxing (Which he did more earlier in his career).

Exactly, I don't know why people get their feathers all ruffled when Cotto gets criticized. If your a fan you already know his game is solid and he preforms like a champ in the ring. Without critics would Cotto even enjoy his success? I love hearing people call him slow, stiff and flawed it shows you a different facet of the boxing community that keeps the sport alive...if everyone loved Cotto where would the drama of the sport be. Cotto is a wicked fighter true indeed.

LoL Cotto has always looked like that during training. He beat Mosley, Judah, Quintana, and Clottey, he must be doing something right.

I was real worried until I saw this clip ... it show that he is conditioned and like you said if he establishes his jab Pac will have a long night. However, I still favor Pac-- due to the fact that Cotto will not get the win if it goes to the cards.
