They were with Munroe and Hyland. Why would they pair off their two best fighters?

When there is money to be made and both are the best in europe, and both held minor world titles (wbu) and both were scousers this would of been a big fight alot of money and hype, and both were very excting, this for me is one the best british fights not to happen in the last ten years

possibly, would have been a good match up regardless. I'd take Dunne I think. Dunne was superb for a short while.

What happend with dunne how come he never got that huge fight? neary got the big fight against ward on hbo and sky box office, as the co main event to a hamed fight, but dunne was always left out in the cold, also think dunne was the better fighter aswel

Dunne had his big fights too. Ayers was too tough for him but it was a thriller. He had previously stopped an unknown Jon Thaxton in another classic- getting off the floor to do so. He beat Josh Clotteys brother for the WBU title, defended againt future Euro champ Afif Djelti, battered former division number one Philip Holiday to prove his genuine world class. The win over an aged Billy Schwer was a big fight, so too was his stoppage of a then top class Wayne Rigby. The end came when David Burke outclassed him in an upset then he was stopped by future commonwealth champion Kevin Bennett in his return- his durability just vanished.

yeah but for a big fight like this i think dunne could of went up 5 pounds, colin was known for struggling to make weight, plus i remember this was always talked about by british fans, it just didnt happen
