The vid lasts for about 2 minutes and you have a Trinidad vs Hopkins T-Shirt on I think. Sucks that the fight isn't happening - shame he won't fight anyone:verysad
Well you've certainly done a better job convincing me than old perma tan, good post. I still think Button's consistancy, over the course of an F1 calendar, stands out as the better sporting acheivement; but we both know it's a popularity contest anyway.
you forgot ali, young un'. :goodi think i can safely say that ali was the most famous sports personality ever.
personally,i think the thread starter is quite right in saying this about other sports, they are completely ****ing naff to be honest. rich boys raceing around a track in ****ing overly expensive cars, with one seat, can't even take a bird out to impress. blokes throwing balls at one another while you hit it with a peice of wood, and shout howsat,or run,or suger don't run,the balls coming back,oh darn its hit the wicket,oh well cup of tea time. and sum muppets are trying to compare to 2 chaps, pummeling the **** outa one another for 12 hard fought rounds,no break for a cuppa or a glass of plonk, with 2 of the most boring upper class sports on the planet. haye for Sports person thingie, not sum jumped up twat,a real man,man of men a ****ing spartan:huh:huh oh and dan b,blue looks good naked, trust me,me wife told me:good
To be honest, I've only become a cricket fan over the last two years and the F1 is a labour of love; man that last race was boring (and most others this season). I've gotten bored of the whole Zelenoff thing for now, he's just an attention *****. I did send him a few PMs when he came back (again), I'll happily post them up for your amusement.
Dan-B I know Button winning the F1 championship was a big deal, but in reality over the season he really hasn't been the best driver (as stupid as that sounds). The Braun car at the beggining of the season was leap years ahead of any other competitors. In the latter half of the season the likes of McLaren, Ferrari and (forgot who makes the 'RedBull' team) have all caught up in terms of Machanics/Engineering and Button has been pretty average. If Hamilton had have had the car he now races from the start then I have no reservations about believing Button would have had another season full of broken promises. There are 3/4 far better 'drivers' out there than Button for me, so he doesn't get the SPOTY on personal achievements. The Ashes, similiar to Haye was a two horse race to the title. At least with Haye its an individual sport not a team sport. Khan and Froch are probably better shouts than Haye however they aren't in the 'poster boy division' for public recognition. Froch gets his critics form Calzaghe's fans so isn't big enough with the boxing community and Khan will not get it due to the fact that he doesn't get the recognition for coming back from the brink of disaster and career failure and he sports a pakistani gumsheild. Jessica Ennis SHOULD win it however who actually cares about Athletics these days when its not the Olympics ? IAAF World Combined Events Challenge Champion. 2009World Championships winner, 6 Personal bests this season in her respective catagories
it used to quite **** me off acually, the wife saying "mmmm, blues looking good, abbs and the lot, you r a bit of a boxer widdy, why the **** you so chubby then" cheeky *****,and i even married heratsch
I think Jessica Ennis is a more worthy winner than Jenson Button. Not trying to take away from his achievement, but in my brief experience of being interested in the sport in the late 1990's, to me it's all about the car, certainly as much if not more so than the driver. For a heptathlete to absolutely smash the opposition the way she did was amazing, I know Karolina Kluft wasn't in it, but even so..... [And she is from Yorkshire also]
