    How many Boxing Champions had initially retired undefeated? Whether or not if they had an ill advised comeback.

    As near as I can determine, Bantamweight Champion Jimmy Carruthers may have been the first to retire with an unblemished record, bowing out at 19 (11)-0-0 in 1954.

    I learnt a bit after debating with McGrain ,and Boilermaker,McAuliffe was better than I at first thought.But then that's what this forum's about isnt it?

    Did Pryor retire before the Bobby Joe Young loss? Can't remember.

    Yes, after the second Arguello fight. Both fighters retired. Pryor soon came back.
