Ill give you STurm, but GTFOH with Quartey and especially Whittaker:nono Oscar pulled a clutch performance in the last round to seal the Quartey win. As for Pernell no way I cant believe some people make a big deal on that fight I had Oscar winning by 3 points.
Why would you go on names alone though? That's ******ed. Freddie Pendleton fought scores of the best fighters from the 80s and 90s, but he lost about 20+ fights in his career, so inclusion is pointless. I really like Oscar's resume, but I find it difficult to rate because so many decisions were wrong. He beat Trinidad and won the second Mosley fight IMO, but he also lost to Quartey. I still can't make up my mind about the Whitaker fight. I'd say Oscar is a valid choice for best of the last 20, but he wouldn't be my personal choice because of the dubiety over his decisions.
Any objective scoring of the Oscar-Quartey fight already had Ike up by more than 2 points before the last round. Quartey won the fight.
Your opinion carries as much weight as the ones of people that think he lost to both Quartey and Whitaker.

Okay, you are a doofus. Oscar fought the best, and he lost against some of the best, mostly towards the end of his career... But even if you don't even take his losses into consideration his resume is still better than anyone's right now, especially Pac's. See ODLH might have lost to Mosley and Trinidad in his prime, but atleast he didn't lose to two bums and a shot fighter like Pac did. ODLH's resume is better than Pac's, Hopkin's, and Mosley's put together.
Had to go with Lewis because he fought the best and beat them all, eventually. Tyson (after his prime, but still a good win) Holyfield Rahman Bowe (albeit as an amateur) Bruno Klit. All of those HW's would probably dominate the divisions today (as Vitali probably would if his bro fought him). Hopkins would be second choice if not for being beaten by only the best, but beaten none the less. By the way, were is Calzaghe on that list?? :rofl:rofl:rofl
I had Ike up by 1 point going into the last round. He dropped him and got a 2 point round so,that puts him up 1 point in my book. In fact you could almost make a case for scoring it 10-7 because they could have stopped that fight with no controversy.
Also, I should note I rank resume by a combination of wins and total opposition fought (losses and draws included). I find that's the only way to give proper credit to the fighters who routinely fight the best opposition available, because if you do it over the course of your career like Oscar and Evander (the two I rank the highest on this list, no disrespect to Manny, Lennox, and company), a few losses are going to occur- but it's not fair to punish their resume for taking that chance in the first place. In no way, shape, or form is Hopkins' resume better than Oscar's unless you put an extremely high amount of weight on longevity. Even then, I can't help but feel like Oscar's getting shafted in this argument because of the "what have you done for me lately" nature of it.
