He's over-rated from a technical stand-point, although his 1-2 is under-rated. Wlad would outbox him easily, and is far more skilled and a much better ring general.
I don't know, haven't seen that much of him to be honest, but from what I did see, I can't say that he's anymore 'skill-ridden' than that of Wladimir to be honest. At least, back when Wlad fought with a sense of invinsibility, that is... I think Haye is a little bit overrated in my book.
where are all these troll threads coming from? How can you even ask that question considering Haye has had 1 fight at HW since moving up?
Haye is quick and he puches hard. But, to answer your question, no he is not the most skillful heavyweight today. Wlad easily has the best technical skills for a big man, while Vitali is the best pure fighter. Haye is and always has been a fairly sloppy fighter. His defense and footwork are questionable. He often neglect the the jab for long stretches of the fight and he throws way too many lopping punches. And, like Wlad, he has always been the big, stronger man in the ring. Unfortunately for him, however, now that he has stepped up, that is no longer the case. In a pure boxing match, on the oustide, he would have two chances against Wlad...slim and none. In an all out fight he might tag Wlad on the chin (or Wlad might tag him) and he might have a chance.
He has a great amateur background e.g silver medal at HW the worlds i think it was. In the cruisers he knew guys couldnt take his punches so he went full steam for the knockout.. the only exception being the momreck fight were apart from being put down he played it patient. Hes technically a counter puncher though.
Which great or even good boxer has Haye ever defeated? I'm talking about someone who was a slick boxer. The answer is no one. Whereas, all of the top heavies--Wlad, Vitali and even Povetikin have at least topped fighter who were good boxers. So, how can you say Haye has underrated boxing skills. In truth, Haye is little more than a slugger who has very fast hands. The comparison has been made before, and it is apt...Haye is a newer, slightly bigger version of Herbie Hide.
there are similarities with hide apart from the chin! Despite all the flack he gets on here for apparently having a "glass" chin the fact that hes never been knocked clean out ala Hide i think speaks volumes. Yes hes been knocked down against mock(crazy) and mormeck however hes always got back up to finnish the job/has never been on complete ***** street. Well find out on saturday how his chin holds up to valuevs jabs and straight right if he gets caught.
Yeah there's no way in hell that Haye would outbox either Klitschkos. I just don't see any way that Haye would beat Vitali. Haye would have a very very slim chance against Wlad since Wlad's chin is not great like Vitali's.
The only guys who supposedly knocked Hide "clean out" in over 50 fights were Riddick Bowe and Vitali. Hide got up after the 1st knockdown against Vitali and actually beat the count on the 2nd as well, but the stoppage was completely legit. Bowe dropped Hide SEVEN times. Hide could have beat the count again, but wisely decided he had had enough. Hide's corner actually threw in the towel after the 6th knockdown but the ref kicked it out of the ring. Do you actually think Haye would have gotten back up seven times against Bowe to "finish the job"? He wouldn't have beaten the count that many times against Thompson if the ref allowed it to continue. Fortunately for Haye, Valuev ain't Vitali or Bowe. The giant has never been a big puncher, he hasn't stopped anyone since 2006. Plus he's in rapid decline/ 36 is old for a fighter, for a fighter with gigantism, it's ****ing ancient. Haye will probably win easily without having to prove his chin.
Chambers and Povetkin are more clearly more talented from a pure boxing standpoint. He has clearly more power than the both of them tho.
