Between 140 and 147 it's a welterweight fight so the belt is rightfully on the line.

It don't matter that much anywya.

Doesn't matter. If its over 140, there welterweights. Cotto already agreed and signed the fight so clearly he thinks less of the situation than you.

As far as I'm concerned if Pac wants to fight at a catch wieght then the belt shouldn't be on the line. If he wants the champion to put his belt on the line then he should allow the champion to weigh-in at the championship limit. Frankly the arguement is a mute point though cause as far as I'm concerned Mosely is the champion in the division and anyone wanting to call themselves the champion would have to face him.

That being said if we get to fight night and its obvious that cutting that extra two pounds hasn't drained Cotto in anyway then I will not use the weight as a mean by which to discredit/down play a pac win.

Cotto is actually allowed to weigh in at 147 and the fight will still go through and he will still be allowed to defend his title. The only difference is that if he comes in at 147 Pac will get even more money.

Nah....it should be on the line if Cotto agrees...which he has. If not for the fact he's facing a far smaller foe in Manny the catch weight wouldn't be an issue. But he is and PAC is at the disadvantage going against Cotto. The belt is on the line b/c Cotto is the WW champ. The wegiht LIMIT is 147...145 is within the WW limit and he's at an advantage facing PAC b/c he is smaller. The belt being on the line for this kind of fight..of this magnitude is a must IMHO.

Are you sure cause I seem to remember Roach raise **** by saying he'd pull manny if Cotto come in over 145 lbs.....that doesn't sound like a simple its your decision type thing.

so if pac wins and wants a fight against margarito than he could demand the fight at 141 lbs...

Margarito would die tryin to make 141..

The rule is stupid if u ask me...cotto should be allowed to defend at 147 and thats that

Cotto has agreed to put his belt on the line at 145, so he doesn't agree with you.

up to him, some people go into a fight with a speed advantage some people reach, some weight and strength. If Pac wanted proper WW title he should of fought for it. The reason the P4P list and weight classes were created was to keep it fair. But fair enough Cotto agreed and its up to him

At first I thought Cotto should hold his ground and tell Pac "147, or kiss my ass." However, in the end it doesn't matter because of the way they actually made the deal.
