This has probably been done before, but just reading another thread about 'should Cotto re-match Marg', I see a lot of people saying Marg would win anyway. I think this is utter bull**** personally. All Cotto has to do is improve his stamina and that's it. He was OUTCLASSING Margo in the first half of the fight. People totally over look this and it annoy's me. Just want to hear ESB's thoughts. Alot of factor's in this fight should it ever come off again. But if made to choose, I'd say Margarito repeats his fight from '08. Margarito not only has a chip on his shoulder but now has nothing to lose..... Nothing will stop Margarito from going all out again on Cotto. Margo already took the best Cotto can offer & it wasn't enough. I hope they do get to put this entire contoversy to rest once & for all. Until then, I'll take Margarito. (For all the same reasons I picked him in the first)
i think cotto would win, as he knows exactly what he did wrong, cotto would box circles around margarito this time. By the way he got his ass whooped the 1st time no doubt what so ever. If cotto wants to prove me wrong then go avenge your only loss to date.
Cotto hit Margarito with everything but the ringpost last time and he couldn't hurt him. There's no reason to think he'd be any more successful a second time. Maybe plasterless Margarito wouldn't brutalize him like the first fight, but he'd still get a decision based on the volume of punches he throws.
But its a lot easier gritting your teeth and walking a man down when you got cement in your fists. Would he do the same if he didn't have the plaster? Despite claiming he didn't know anything about the plaster wraps, Margarito look noticably deflated in his match vs Mosley. Although a lot of that was due to the bombs Mosley constantly landed on his face.
Margarito, wno's really a middle to supper-middleweight, would destroy Cotto again, with or without plaster. He's just to big for Miguel Cotton.
what you have got to remember is that without the plaster of paris handwraps on Margarito he isnt going to do what he did the last time to Cotto, Whether or not Cotto is now damaged goods because of being repeatdly hit with the plaster of paris wraps remains to be seen but it is clear that he is a better boxer than Margarito
it really would be as good as the first fight and id like to see it happen, id pick Margarito again, but lets see after the pacman fight and i might change my opinion
Hey would anyone object if they let Cotto put plaster in his gloves and made Margarito fight with clean wraps? I'd actually enjoy it, imagine all those punches Cotto landed in the first fight if he'd had a brick of plaster over his knuckles? lol turn margacheata into a pinata
