You mean pathetic post. Thats the first time Fedor was hurt. Against a hail mary from a massive heavy with VERY heavy hands. He gets hit high on the temple and in a caveat that has never ever been even close to replicated in MMA with a "undefeated" record as his and now his chin is poor? People are analysing this way too much. Brett has a punchers chance AND THAT IS IT. This is MMA though NOT boxing. Power can be negated VERY easily. If Fedor can submit Hong Man Choi Goodridge and Zulu he sure as hell can do the same with Rogers.
his striking is absolutely terrible, mainly his punching. i don't care what argument anyone has about it being suited to mma etc he does seem to have ko power so he throws big and it can be lights out ala arlovski and sylvia though i don't think either have great chins. fedors stance, guard, balance, striking technique, defence etc is awful. i love watching him grapple but i do cringe at his stand up. guys get intimidated. cro cop should have been laying hands on him hard but he was negative.
Yeah. He would do way better to stand in a solid sideways tae kwan do stance and if he threw way more 360 kicks! No no no. He should stand southpaw and put most of the weight on his front leg, like a wrestler. Actually, he should probably have a light front leg and fight with his hands out, Muy Thai style... Or maybe his extremely successful striking in MMA shouldn't be **** on because it doesn't meet the criteria of different martial arts...
There are basic techniques that work at a higher percentage than others; swinging from the hip with every punch with your chin up in the air is just plain bad technique; it doesn't matter if one specific guy has had a lot of success in MMA despite poor technique. Anyway as I've said it doesn't matter much to me; Fedor is a groundfighter and that is his strength and what has made him the best fighter in the world, but all this talk of him being perfect at everything just because 'he wins all the time' is nonsense; there are styles that can exploit it as well; I fully expect Fedor to eventually lose to a guy he can't take down who can punch.
If Fedor said he fights with eyes closed a lot of MMA fans would say that thats actually the best way to fight, and it doesn't matter that its unconventional, 'coz Fedor wins all the time.
Bollocks, you watering down what Fedor does standing up.....you really are. Saying he swings like a madman and head up is akin to say George Foreman just swung as well or Rocky Marciano was just a bar room brawler. Yes those discriptions are correct but we also need to speak about how all these men had a good instinct to avoid punches, judge distance well and time there punches. In essence they did in an unorthodox manner thats all. Is Fedor the best striker in the world? No.....Should beginners learn from him as a form of bascis.....no BUT it is good to see his raw agression, and utter belief that he will destroy you. The dynamic way he throws a right hand down the the middle then picks you up and slams you to the ground.
If he was 30-1 and he was fighting with his eyes closed, what does that tell you? Maybe it works for him and he sure as **** very efficient with it. You guys are hung up on looking pretty over efficiency. Before Machida seldom anyone would even propose doing karate for MMA. But it doesn't matter, that's the beauty. It's all about efficiency of your style over others. Yes, he may lose to someone who can defend his takedowns and someone who can outstrike him but thats the problem aint it? No one has been able to do that. And while you're still waiting for someone like that to show up, he just happened to become the greatest ****ing HW the world has ever seen.
once again his standup does it again, it's his unorthadox style and weird angles of his punches that make them so effective not to mention he has sledgehammers in his hands when he throws them.
