Modern rules, 12 rounds. Who wins? Just for your reference, Driscoll: [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5LSDYJOFp7Q[/ame]
i think Driscoll gets it Driscoll is like a ghost in there with great movement and ring generalship. I thin he has the defensive skills to make Naseem miss and come back with well placed counters to get the decision. But Naz is fast and hits hard so he definitly wins afew rounds by stunning Driscoll. But Driscoll takes it about 8-4
as pater said naz has power and speed, but he could hit the deck himself not so much hurt but caught of balance but it would not surprise me either if naz's unpredictable power punching from all angles would not put driscoll down early? perhaps causing driscoll to employ a clinching tactic more than he would usually so turning the fight into a scrappy affair with driscoll perhaps winning a disputed decision
Hamed is one fighter I detest on a personal level, but he undeniably had phenomenal power at Featherweight.Driscoll was far and away the better boxer, but Driscoll also could crack ,his right hand was thrown straight and quick ,he could get you out of there. Driscoll by dec.
The defense and movement just isnt there to evade Hameds power, 2 fighters with their hands down, I'll take the 1 with better athleticism/power/balance/reactions, Hamed has much sharper technique and more trickery Hamed KO4
Sharper technique? Hamed was a **** poor boxer, often off balance especially when he missed with a punch he had no technique at all just marvellous reflexes and speed .Hamed had **** balance, but great power.
This might be up for criticism but i've seen that vid a few times and i think Driscoll looks ****ing quality
Same. It's too easy to automatically dismiss the grey boxers and assume they were a bit slow on the uptake. Didn't quite understand the game they were in. On the contrary, they were masters of their rule set.
The reflex style was his technique, he was a greater boxer who throw away the foundamentals, at the end he became sloppy, stopped training and relied solely on power because he could get away with it but this wasnt always the case. Anyway I was talking about punching technique, Driscoll doesnt have that good technique and if you cant see it I cant be bothered to explain why but he reminds me of Viscous Maussa, which is a very bad thing. And I suspect if the film was played at its real speed, he'd look allot worse Hamed had good balance too, its just he would at times be off balance. The way he'd set traps and counter could be pretty devastating
Hamed reminded me of an utter **** who moved about the ring like a broken washing line. Wait, that was him. Hope he makes a comeback.
Definitely. A common misperception, that. It's like Chris Byrd - he was a huge puncher, except when he wasn't.
He was actually very effective while jumping about the ring like a broken washing line. Hittable? Of course. But he was quite hard to pin down and he still generated a tremedous amount of power from various angles. When Steward got a hold of him, he made Hamed into a flat-footed fighter, which spelled disaster considering he never held his hands up. That really made him easier to hit and ruined him, IMO. He was a better fighter while jumping around the ring not knowing what he was going to do next. With that said, he was an utter ****.
