pac and duran is almost on the same boat as this one. lets compare... pac 105 - 147 (40% weight increase) to beat oscar. now fighting cotto at 145. duran 119 - 160 (34% weight increase) to beat barkley. 119 - 168 (41% weight increase) to beat castro. jones 154 - 200 (30% weight increase) to beat ruiz. floyd 130 -154 (18% weight increase) to beat oscar.
+1 TIME magazine recognizes his achievements and what he has gone through. Would somebody pls stop the POLLS coz it would be :|:|:| again for the pac haters :rofl
He turned pro @16, enough said. Floyd, Oscar etc would have probably achieved the same if they fought the fighters pac did at his low weights at his age.
If you are talking about moving up and then back down, I think it has to go to Mosley. He went from lightweight all the way up to juniour middle with success all along the way and then back down to welter where he is still dominant. I can't think of anyone else that has moved up and then back down with success.
Why do you keep commenting on things you clearly don't know about? From that post it is obvious that you have not seen Mosley-De La Hoya I, which was one of the most important fights of Oscar's career. Stay off my threads in future amateur, you waste space with your mistakes and you waste my time and space in correcting them.
barrera turned pro at age 15. morales started young as well. and i doubt floyd and oscar was 105 when they were 16.
I hold my hands up to this one, a glaring omission on my part - Toney should be in there. Considering I scored the first fight with Sam Peter as a clear win for James, he should definitely have been in there. Outstanding achievement which he never never gets enough credit for.
Good point on Barrera. And you're right, no chance was Floyd or Oscar a flyweight at 16, Oscar especially. Floyd and Oscar are both clearly naturally bigger men than Pac, bigger frames.
Has to be Roy Jones what he did was unheard of. Yeah Ruiz wasnt the best heavyweight but god damn what a challenge it was.
Evander Holyfield should of been a lock for this list his jump from crusierweight to heavyweight is legendary
i don't know about that but if you're a smaller guy you hava also have smaller frame thus gaining weight won't be that much easier. and even if you are correct, gaining weight in boxing and still winning is a little different. that's why we don't see many flyweights jumping straight to bantam or featherweight.
