Excellent performance by Asiku. He'l take a lot out of that. Ruiz can fight. Ruiz just wasn't strong enough to hold the center and keep Asiku off him. He landed some great counter right hands but Asiku just kept coming forward and backing him up. Asiku showed he is very well conditioned. I thought the ref should have stopped it a few seconds earlier...definately before the last punch landed when Ruiz was already bent over. We need more quality fights like that. And our boys...Seran and Flash...BOOM!!!
I only turn up when they need help in the corner. They didn't need any last night. I felt for Angelo. I really did. Two of his boys ko'd on his own show. That's what we do when you stir the Bohol Beast!!!
being there you wouldnt know what was said on the telecast but did you tell Andy Raymond to call you Fabulous Phil Austin:huh great night for the record padders getting a few wins flash and seran.Asiku looked great too the semi main event with the parra conditioner and the guy whos been retired 11 years was woeful and the Uzbekhistan or wherever hes from guy looks promising.
Craig Christian always comes in looking like he's heading down to the park to kick a footy and drink a 6-pack, but for the most part his fighters do very well.. So I spose don't fix what aint broke
I was going to tip Seran to upset Wills too but wasn't game enough Plus, you would have had me certified tipping two Bohol boys getting wins on the one card. lol. Only negative was that the two boys they ko'd (Wills and Livanos) are really nice kids. Willsy is always up for a chat and they tell me he was happy for Seran that he got a big win last night. That's class. That's what it's all about. Dean Livanos is the same. A real polite kid. No one ever wants to see fighters hurt like that. It's just a sport at the end of the day.
That ref should have his license cut to shreds. Ruiz was not only jet-lagged as ****.Ref didn't handle the situation. He has responsibility to stop the fight!! if the hurt fighter looks un-steady on his feet. Did he check his status? he let it go on to recieve more punches from the ugandan when he was not in the right condition to take those shots.
Well exactly when do they decide enough is enough? What we see on TV is not what is always going on. Ruiz walked back to his corner & from what I saw was coherent & satisfied that he was given his best chance, & that's also what the referee is supposed to assess as well. Unfortunately, Mexicans have a reputation for wanting to "fight to the death" & they will give the referee holy hell if he gets too cautious. As for Jet lag. I don't know the exact date this fight was contracted on, but I'd be surprised if it wasn't some weeks away. So whose fault would it be that he was Jet Lagged? When a manager does a deal, he's supposed to factor all these things in & ensure the fighter is well looked after. Promoters are not expected to make demands about what's best for a fighter. That's what the trainer is for. You're not looking at the whole picture.
I agree... have no problem with the ref pulling it up and ending the fight before the a fighter becomes a victim of a punishing bout. Ruiz was shot and copping a hiding on the ropes....seen many fights stopped at this stage and nobody has complained...Ruiz didn't win a round he was goneski. Big respect to Ruiz, bring on more Mexicans, the most entertaining fighters always putting on a display of great hands good footwork. Asiku looked massive....dominated.....solid chin and fit as ****. Looking forward to seeing some decent defense and more title shots...
Up against the ropes not punching back you step in and prevent anymore damage. You don't wait ti'll boxer (A) is fully concuss by fighter (B).
Bit off the mark there imo. I scored the first round for him and had him winning another ( can't remember which one, got the paper at home) and I think it was rd 6 where I scored it a draw.
Great pics Jet....had a feeling about Villacura after what u had said. But damm Seran looked sensational too.
I had it 68-66 Asiku after 7. I scored rds 1 and 5 for Ruiz with the sixth rd 10-10. Asiku dominated just about everywhere other than punches landed. Ruiz landed a good deal. Up until rd 7, their wasn't a great deal in it but Asiku turned it up a notch and Ruiz tired. But you always got the feeling that the second half of the fight would be Asiku's because Ruiz never really hurt him and Asiku was getting in the groove and looking strong. Really good fight.
