I say Team Cotto takes the "L" on the scale & comes in a true Welterweight.
(Money will come in droves should he win)

The whole trainer thing is, Blahhh to me.
The fighter does all the work in the ring come fight night.

i dont know if its accurate but looking at boxrec 5 out of his 8 fights at WW he weighed in at 146...so i guess the 145 is more of a mental thing since it makes Cotto relive the nightmares of having to drop to a certain weight...

but that's just me tho i really dont think 145 would have any drastic effect on him physically

Same. If Cotto has ACTUALLY leaked this information, then I would suspect that the reality is he wants Pacquiao to try to jump him early and expect him to fade late like against Oscar who was drained. Then Cotto will have Pacquiao playing into his hands based on the gameplan he has set. Of course, this is assuming Cotto even wanted to release this news.

It's not hard to shed a few pounds in a week. Even if he were 150lbs he could make weight with a weeks effort. I highly doubt Cotto is having trouble making weight, hes not Clottey.

More bull**** from Roach camp. Now thay taking credit for victories like Manny had nothing to do with it. Cotto camp was a lot shorter and less intense for his last fight. And he showed up at 146lbs. Whoever think Cotto can't make 145lbs must be delusional.

If he's indeed having trouble a week out then that doesn't speak too well about his future at the 147 lb limit. I tend to think that the reports are probably exaggerated.

    Nice avy btw.

And by the way, Miguel Cotto Physical trainer is south african Phil Landman. I will not call him an average Joe. As per Joe Santiago, not my favorite but the fact is he has been with Cotto for a few years now. He is not new in this job.
