Also, yes. but haye beat Valuev better than Holyfield, Ruiz (both times), Donald and even Chagaev. Also, at this point, there are at least 20 people on here who have no idea how to judge a fight. You're the same people who think that Jirov beat Toney. :roflfireadmin
I thought Valuev took control after rd 4.......... The 12th round was a good round for Haye, but not enough to take the WBA title............... Haye has NO CHANCE at beating either "K" brother.................. Haye will run like a rabbit from the "K" bros........ I scored the sleeper of a fight for Valuev by 115 to 113............. It was close............... MR.BILL
well no - that's not how the scoring system works - but even if it did, i think this fight would be a lousy example of that. <i>I</> could only score four rounds to valuev and thought haye won quite comfortably, but could concede how close a lot of those rounds were. david is rightly the new champ, imo - and i'm glad to say it - but this was no lewis / tua, let alone dempsey / willard!
Mr Bill, you seem like you're judging this properly. But I believe you are horrendously wrong. At least you're judging it objectively though.
Haye landed a few good punches so I'll give him the edge. Many rounds could have been called a draw though, both landed ****.
This is actually really funny. I was watching the british feed and following one of the german sports networks round by round. Pretty much every british fight analyst and anouncer had it for Valuev but the German round by round had it a complete blowout for Haye. Like not even close. Infact before the scores were read they were saying that there could only be one winner and that was david haye. Plus they went so far as to question what fight the spanish judge who scored the fight a draw could possibly have seen. Honestly I think if you look at this fight and the dirrell fight together as a whole you can gain some seriously benificial insight as to how each of these societies views boxing. The brits like a good old fashioned tare-up and will go so far as to score round for a fighter that isn't really landing so long as he's showing initiative. In short they highly value initiative and spirit in their fighters. The germans on the other hand like clean mand controlled fighting and want to be impressed by the strength accuracy and effieicency of a fighter. The comical part about tonight is that each side saw what they most like to see in the OTHER countries fighter and judged the fight accordingly. As an impatial observer from this side of the Atlantic this was very funny to watch. And I think I'll just chack this up to another enjoyable silly night of Eruopean boxing.
Lewis-Tua was the heavyweight van Gogh of boxing. An absolute masterclass. Haye was brilliant, just not that brilliant.
I had Valuev ahead, but I was tending to give Valuev close rounds as I thought thats how the judges would go. Anyway I'm glad Haye got the win.
At least someone else recognizes you shouldn't win fights this way. WTF! I had Valuev ahead 116-112. When I heard the scores I was sure they were going his way. This decision was lousy, imo - and I picked Haye to win.
Ya but the thing is many of the Primetime team in the UK scored it for Dirrell. It's the fans on here that scored it for Froch, but according to polls on the Brit forum the majority were still in favour of Dirrell.
btw journeyman - the point was the number '10' is redundant in the 10 point scoring system. I was saying that it is suggesting a 10 point scale system, but that isn't how it works. Under the present system, the top score should be at best 5.
I questioned it too, wtf DID he see? I saw Haye hitting, moving, hitting, moving, I saw Valuev missing, walking, mssing, walking, getting hit, missing, walking.
haven't posted here in many a year, but if i remember YOU correctly, then you will've claimed that the glass-jawed haye would've been ko'd soon as valuev landed. that david survived to the final bell - in YOUR book - must mean valuev didn't land a single punch. so how could he win by your own [erroneous] scoring system..?
