Valuev woked harder, Haye had the better shots. It was pretty close imo but ultimatatly comes doww to the judges. At least it wasnt a farce like the tyson fury fight.

Haye did enough imo to win, but other judges could od easily scored it the other way.

Cant wait till the next fight.

10 point 'must' was the problem that keeps getting forgotten in the Froch fight. He clearly, clearly lost the round, but with the deduction the cobra won either 10-9 or 10-8 depending on the judge's inclination.

i had it 115-114 for haye but i wouldnt have been surprised if valuev got that majority decision.think haye just wants the klit boys now probaly wlad first and then retire.if he beats the brothers klit ,may make one defense if theres a fight that can match the klit money, look for haye badgering the klit boys in the press soon.much needed fireworks for this great division, great for boxing

All my point is, that here, there, and everywhere, there is this "Britain vs America" thing, heres the facts,, and this goes to everyone not specifically you Mookhound, not all of us are British or American, thank you, but I can judge a fighter on skill, not nationality or hype

Everyone knows I hate Amir Khan, yet I love David Haye, got nothing to do with skin colour, natonality, or politics, but that particular boxer, and their style, and their attitude

David Haye reminds me of myself.

    and he CEARLY won.

I think the best thing for David Haye thats happened in a while is that Ruiz got made the manditory to face the winner. Ruiz will be a tough test for Haye. He's a true heaveywieght contender with very good fundamental skills. And he's a very interesting style match up for David. The big knocks on Haye are that he gets overwhelmed and tires easily when he's physically challenged, made to fight at a tough pace and roughed-up. There are also serious question marks about his chin. John Ruiz is the exact type of fighter that should be able to take advantage of these weaknesses. He's full sized heavyweight that is a master of physical rough fighting. He has very good fundamentals and should be able to connect on Haye's jaw and put him in tough spots. But that being said his come forward style makes him vulnerable to Haye's power shots. Thus Ruiz is a double edged sword and only if Haye is for real will he be able to make this match-up work for him. Essentially, Ruiz will give Haye a proper heavyweight test and because of styles if Haye is for real he will get the knockout. If he is not for real, good by David Haye.

    Absolutely, I was only joking.

All i'm saying is that i cannot help my bias to supporting a proper WORLD CLASS Brit over a world class, say, Yank who I really admire. So, Holy, Toney and Tyson would be in my fave fighters ahead of Bruno, but I'd always support Lewis ahead of em.

I first saw Haye as an am in the 1st round of the world ams in 2001 (Richie Woodhall said: "We all know about David Haye" and I always liked Woodhall).

i acknowledge my bias. Maybe I gave Haye an extra round or two in this fight. He won by a mile without that.

Decent anlysis. Haye will beat Ruiz, but it won't be spectacular. I wish, really wish, Ruiz had fought Tua again. Win or lose (and I would be willing to risk a tenner on a win) it would have proved just how much better Ruiz was than the time of the KO1

didn't see the froch / dirrell fight sadly - brit tv, as i'm sure you know, has little respect for our most worthy sporting figures (missed the long overdue repeat) - but boxing people i respect scored it both ways: scoring can be subjective - that's a big plus AND a big negative of boxing. that said, in the main - in fights i have scored - i've encountered far fewer 'robberies' than most of the amateurs on this board... ;)

Thank you. And I see it playing out the same as you do. Of course I could also see it looking like Forman Frazer. But thats maybe a little too much to ask for. Haye seems like he needs to prove something to himself still before he reaches his full potential.

you don't get rewarded for making an effort alone - it has to be an effective effort.

Ruiz. Good skills?? At what? Holding excessively!

Ruiz is probably the least skilled beltholder of all time. Without the illegal tactics, he can't win fights at the world class level. Haye is gonna smoke him, like Tua did.
