Okay I understand boxing and using strategy and all that good stuff, but when you're dominating as thoroughly as Dawson was tonight...get after the guy! You don't have to jump in and swing away until you get the KO. You just have to attack and not make it a lame one sided sparring session.

It's a fight. Boxing is based on the idea of 2 men enter, 1 man leaves. Rounds and judges were put in place to stop the bocing matches from going on forever, they're an imperfect answer to a tough dillema.

wtf???? I thought we were boxing fans here. Chad isn't boring at all, incredibly skilled and just dazzled against Johnson. I think the thing that devalues his fights is the fact that he's been in a 4 fight string of rematches with 40 year olds.

I totally think he should've gone all out and tried to impress the world against Glen Johnson...ya know kind of like how the last time when he tried to impress the world against Glen Johnson and nearly lost.

    Kind of like that.

He fought a great fight, get the **** over it.

??? Why is he boring? He throws a lot of punches, clean, fast, speedy punches. Is it because he doesn't go to war and he doesn't get hit? That's the whole point of boxing...why make it harder than it needs to be.

Fact is he fought two guys in Tarver/Johnson that are bordering on impossible to knock out, certainly incredibly difficult.

i thought this was a good fight. can't expect a ko on johnson. he is tough as nails. Dawson did what he have to do and he looks unstoppable. i don't think anyone from 168-crusier have a chance against dawson. I know Joe calzaghe wouldn't be able to beat chad either. if it ever happens. my money is on chad.

Brilliant performance. Somehow, unbelievably, Dawson is still underrated. He'd destroy anyone from 168 to 175.

What bothers me is that he didn't even pretend to try tonight. His hand speed was so far superior to Glen's tonight that it was ridiculous, and he never stepped on the gas for more than ten seconds.

He's not necessarily boring, but seeing him in fights he can't lose has gotten tiresome.

    Undoubtedly.

He'd school and embarrass the entire Super Six. He'd probably KO them all.

but really, what ever happened to giving fans an outstanding KO or at least outstanding preformance? Jesus, snoozers like this dont build fanbases, they dont build demand, and they dont make me want to watch. Boxing needs its future stars to start going the extra mile

Would you get risky against a guy who nearly knocked you out? I mean I'd love to see Dawson fight like he did against Adamaek and company...but for the sake of this fight, there really was no point. He got in, got out and got on with life. Nothing wrong with that.

That is in effect criticizing him for being too good. He can't lose to these guys because he's dominating them, and they ain't scrubs. Past their best no doubt but these are good fighters with pedigree.

Not even a point in trying to knock 'em out, they've been knocked out a combined once in 80 odd fights and Dawson has fought them 4 times. Thats where this harsh rep of being boring is coming from.

If/when he fights some of the other guys at 175lbs I'd be expecting to see more knockout power and excitement from Dawson.
