Dawson a boring fighter?

It wasn't a barnburner but I was fairly entertained...Chad skillset was just too advanced for Johnson. Maybe a possible fight with Cloud will be more pleasing to the eye

Dawson has fought 2 40 year olds in his last 2 fights and he couldn't even hurt either one.

You are talking to bunch of boxing illiterates who haven't the first clue about the sport.

Ultimate fighting or barfights would be more to their liking.

I scored the first fight narrowly for Johnson, but tonight, it was Chad who was on the end of some bad scoring.

His performance was masterful and he dropped two or three rounds maximum.

Clearly the best LHW at the moment.

 

So you watch Dawson and think its boring? Did you watch the Haye fight? Jeez, Dawson looks like the action fighter of the decade compared to that **** Haye did today.

 

If you thought this was bad, Dawson/Hopkins might actually go down next year. So fire up the coffee pots, because that fight will make this one look like Corrales/Castillo 1. I like Dawson, but his matchmaking has been the most unlucky of any fighter in the past 3 years. He just can't look good against these crafty older fighters who populate the LHW division.

 

Some of that is his own fault. I'm somewhat of a fan of his but its time to fight some of the younger men at 175lbs, against Pascal/Cloud I guarantee we see more excitement.

 

Both 40 year old's would have dominated the Super Six as well. Dawson can't find any decent comp to face. Friend of the man from Del Monte scurried off into retirement and Adamek already got shut out easily by Chad. BHOP is sixty years old.

 

He could do more. He spent a lot of time dancing around for no reason at all.:huh

When he chose to engage he always got the better of Johnson.:bbb

While boxing is hit and don't be hit, I think Dawson could have hit him a lot more and still not get hit.:good

dawsojn showed incredible skills great foot movement and great hand speed. and didn't run like Dirrell!

that siad he could go in for the risk and maybe get cuaght remeber Glen did stun him a few times in the first fight. i think he did what was best for him and in this world where a loss especially a KO loss can be the end. he just outclassed a man ranked in the top 5 at LHW. i think he showed great poise. now lets see him against some younger and fresher GUYS .the fight was boring at times but he showed why he's one of the top dogs at LHW. he got by in a more impressive manner then last time they fought and thats what matters. He fixed the things he did wrong that made the first fight so close and debatable other then a ko what more can you really complain about?

 

fast crisp combinations on the money, head movement, feet movement. The guy is just an incredible boxer flat out, if you think he's gonna KO Glen Johnson ur mistaking, I don't think anyone in the division can. I just can't wait till he unifies for the WBC, hopefully we can see Dawson-Pascal sometime in spring

 

Again, you have to consider that the last time the two fought, Dawson was almost KO'd by getting two cocky and aggressive.

He took it easy this time because he wasn't looking to repeat his mistake.

 

Yeah, there's nothing wrong with it, and it's the smart thing to do. And I pretty much knew this would happen. But it still felt like watching paint dry.

I'm very impressed with Chad's skill level, but I think I might not waste an evening watching Dawson - Hopkins if that comes around. That would be a pose off, not a fight.

Even without going for the KO, he could have thrown more and imposed himself more. That shouldn't have been too tall an order against a guy who had no prayer of countering his speed.

 

Yeah it was better than the Haye fight but that doesn't make it good.

Boxers need to get after it when they have the chance. It doesn't mean you have to go toe to toe slugging it out for 12 rounds but when you're winning so thoroughly at least TRY to hurt the other guy. Especially when the other guy is a done old man.

Dawson may keep winning fights this way but he'll be doing it in empty stadiums. There's no excuse not to bring the excitment when you're a talented young lion like him.
