Holy did. Thats why its so upsetting considering I was really wanting to root for Haye to cause some excitement in the division. An older Holy beat Valuev more convincingly then Haye. Huge dissapointment after all the trash Haye talked. I actually felt Valuev won this one. Hell, I want to see Holy vs Haye after this, cause I seriously think Holy can outbox and decision him.
Haye did just as well as Holyfield or John Ruiz did against Valuev. Haye proved himself tonight at Heavyweight no doubt.
I am not sure what this means, but the fact Haye has the belt in my mind says he fought better against Valuev. Everything else is just opinion. Haye has the belt and he controls things now. Holyfield did not get the belt.
This is probably what shocked so many people - the fact that a 208 year old Holyfield was so much better. This alone is stunning.
That still doesnt mean that Holy didnt outbox Valuev to a greater degree then Haye did. Its all subjective and the higher powers decided to be done with Valuev. Holy won more rounds and boxed him better, plain and simple. Look at punch stats and look at general opinion from sports writers who watched the Holy vs Valuev fight. Holy should have won and Haye should have lost, shiznit happens all the time in boxing. Just cause Haye has a belt now and got the official decision, doesnt mean he actually outboxed Valuev and is the real champ. C'mon, this is boxing.
Don't forget with a chronic heart condition. Holyfield not only fought better but he beat Valuev more convincingly.
Haye rocked valuev pretty hard, he also landed harder punches. Old Man river actually boxed valuev better. All 3 guys are pieces of **** at this stage.
I saw the fight, Haye had more speed and was a little sharper when he did land than Evander did. And the fact he won does mean something, I thought it showed that he landed a little better than Evander did. I would like to see Haye fight Evander.
Look, I really wanted Haye to win convincingly and be the next great thing in the division. But his showing really proved otherwise. I saw both the Holy fight and todays fight, and there is no way in hell that Haye fought Valuev better then Holy did. And as a previous poster stated, a 200+ year old Holy did better and Haye is supposed to be the next great young contender/champion????
