Thoughts ? I go with McGuigan. After Barry takes heavy punishment early on,he stops Hamed around the thirteenth.

I'm going to have to think about this one, but I'm not sure I can see anyone stopping Hamed. Barrera couldn't do it after landing huge blows, while Hamed's knockdowns always seemed to be primarily balance issues.

I'd probably go with Hamed. Not impossible for McGuigan, it's not like he was rushing forward like a moron, he threw huge hooks, but still you gotta think that Hamed has loads of opportunities to counter with massive blows.

2 of my faves, Barry's a bit underrated but Hamed would catch him and probably would finnish it when he does, probably coming back from being down himself

I like McGuigan here, though it wouldn't be wholly unconceivable that Hamed wins by KO/TKO on account of him catching Barry on the way in. If, however, McGuigan was to press Hamed sensibly without leaving too many openings, he wins IMO.

For what it's worth, McGuigan, since his somewhat dubious induction into the Hall, has been on the receiving end of some disproportionately heavy stick. He gets underrated these days.

I hated Hamed with a passion but.... he'd have laid McGugian out cold late.

    Worst poster of all time.

I'm puzzled as to why everybody feels Hamed is such a clear favorite here. McGuigan was tough, and a better fighter than practically everyone Hamed fought with the soul exception of the one fighter who beat Hamed convincingly.

...What the **** has this thread got to do with Pacquiao. Your own mother would be ashamed that you spent 5 seconds of your life to even give that Asero joker any credit whatsoever.

Asero goes in every thread and talks about Pacquiao, even when it has nothing to do with him. The fact you've just vouched for this man rids you of any credibility for the time being, until you find 5 seconds to apologize for being ignorant. Considering you found the time to support a joke like Asero, this shouldn't be too troubling for you.

    Agreed.

Plus, I would say McGuigan's wins over Pedroza and LaPorte were bigger/better than just about any win Hamed had.
