Yeah, Johnson looked a bit worn and old in this fight. But Dawson just looked better, too. Give Dawson some credit. They are both old, but fight nothing alike (I know now you didn't actually say that).
Why do you have to disrespect people who appreciate and watch both sports. Boxing is my diehard true sporting love, but I have been following MMA since the start of UFC and I appreciate the technique in a boxing match as much as I do in an MMA match. It's stupid attitudes like yours, but in the other direction, that prevent young kids nowadays from learning to appreciate boxing and not to write it off as "old fashioned" or "limited"(the ones who say that wouldn't get far at all as boxers anyways) because they hang onto every word Dana White says(I like MMA but I can't stand him...talks too much biased ****, especially about boxing) Let Dana White look like a dickhead by letting him continue to contradict himself by saying boxing is dying and not a threat but continuing to downtalk boxing(because he's more threatened by it than he'd like people to believe....especially in light of Mayweather-Marquez out-performing the UFC card scheduled that same night)
Funny how MMA has way less viewers and makes way less money than Boxing, yet somehow Boxing is dying. lol Some of you guys need to look at the facts and quit listening to that little girl. He is feeding you guys bull****. Little girl Dana knows the facts that his sport is wayy behind Boxing which is why he spouts bull**** to the media and a lot of people eat it up. Also, on ESPNnews, they just showed a couple of highlights of the Boxing matches tonight. I haven't heard anything of this MMA match that was on. If I didn't come on here, I wouldn't have even known that there was an MMA fight on.
Sometimes you get great all action fights, chess matches and sometimes duds. As a true fight fan I love it all and will endure a haye vs valuev to get a chance to see Pac vs Cotto are a Diego(rip) vs castillo. Boxing is alive and well and will never die.
How long does it take for something to die? Boxing has been "dying" since 2006, however boxing STILL has the highest paid athletes? Sure, it is not as popular as it was when you can watch it freely on CBS Sports but those days are gone. ESPN, SPIKE TV and the internet keep the free market flowing. Boxing won't die. It can't, there are too many potential fights on the horizon and people who know boxing can detail the talent it takes to step in the squared circle. Although MMA attracts people who enjoy violence and knockouts, you have to admit boxing is a true science that even a casual fan can understand (May not enjoy). I am with you on this, V.
