I mean the legit WBA champ was Chagaev. Chagev lost vs. Klitschko. Valuev won the title on the table and lost it to Holyfield.

In the Boxrec rankings you get removed after 12 months of inactivity, this should apply to the WBA title too.

WBA SUCKS PERIOD!!!! When u have an ******* like Ruiz fighting for the title every freakin time, it takes credibility away from the title.

Good idea - they should apply that to the WBC too, then we could say the same crap about VITLAY coming back as a top challenger after 3 years off :yep

its fair enough to question the WBA belt's credibility. from my POV holyfield should be the WBA champ, but then does anybody really think evander holyfield would be too much for david haye? holyfield probably did a better job against valuev, but haye would (at the very least) beat holyfield in the manner ibragimov beat him. most of the belts at one point or other have lacked credibility, maybe its time to accept the WBA champion as a legitimate champion.

at the very least, haye has beaten nikolai valuev, and will probably go on to KO john ruiz, clearing up the mess the WBA has been in over the last couple of years. then we will probably end up seeing the WBA belt in vitali's hands in his final fight before retirement :happy

Yea but an unworthy challenger doesn’t win, it’s about money and the chances of winning. A champion who never loses his belt in the ring should always be first in line to challenge for it.

If you override the facts behind it (Chag never had his title taken, so Wlad should be the WBA titleholder, by rights), you gotta go by what the organizations' rulings, or else things become even more muddy and confusing that they are already.

Haye is the legit WBA titleholder, yes.

PS- love the avatar Baldbull. Mmmmm.

chagaev was the champ but he backed out of fighting valuev 3 times, he then got clobbered by wladimir. valuev reclaimed the belt vs ruiz. he survived a decision against holyfield, but lightning didn't strike twice.

holyfield vs haye would be a sad sad night for boxing.

I don´t have a sister. Haye´s title is the garbage Valuev/Ruiz and Don King left behind. He won vs. Valuev, but was Valuev ever a legit titleholder? Many people do not think so.
