Angulo looked like death warmed over before that fight. And he still won five rounds. I bet he gives Cintron Margo flashbacks in a rematch.
I tend to think the Cintron fight was an aborration, kinda like Williams/Quintana. I'd take Angulo in a rematch. He looked like a beast tonight, Yorgey was too happy to trade and his defence was honestly awful. Angulo is a player no doubt about it.
Extremely likely considering it took Cintron's absolute best performance to take a narrow decision win. I'd love to see a rematch with the winner getting a fight against Paul Williams.
MAY BE IN YOUR DREAMS.he is not BOOM BOOM BAUTISTA.........HE IS ANGULOOOOOO......and THE NEW CHAMPION........................:happy
Cintron beats him 7 outof 10 times. Angulo is a HBO hype job. He's a decent fringe top ten fighter that for some reason HBO is obsessed with making into a star. Any top five 154 lb fighter that has decent movement and skills is going to beat Angulo. Stop with the excuses already. He stepped up once and got knocked back down the ladder, now it's time to have another go at a top ten fighter and see what he really has. I doubt we'll see much more than we did against Cintron.
bull****; it was known that Angulo had a flu coming into that fight but didnt want to call it off and went along with it, his performance suffered as a result. Angulo could compete with Cintron and win 7/10 times
I don't know if you guys remember pre fight, but I seem to recall the hbo crew saying he was in the hospital cuz he was sick with something. He seemed off coming in the ring and stuff, not trying to take anything away from cintron.
I'd like to see a rematch at some point. I'd be tempted to bet on Angulo. But maybe he's the type that can get outboxed.
cintron likes it or not there might just be a rematch. angulo is the interim champ now and cintron is the mandatory challenger to that title. hes in line to face Dzinziruk but hes been inactive for a year. so if cant face him wbo might try to get cintron to face angulo for his interim. inless he waits for the likes of spinks of martinez to challenge him. isnt he also the wbc mando? that what the angulo fight was for the wbc eliminator wasnt it?maybe cintron and ryan rhodes might fight since their both won their wbc eliminator?
I can almost guarantee that Cintron will come out in an interview and say "I don't need to fight him again, I beat him already." When the truth is, he only won 7-5 and was starting to get run ragged in the last two rounds. Against a dude who obviously was coming off of a flu. I've got Perro BIG if they do this again.
This. Angulo is slow, both in hand and foot. He cuts the ring off well, but he's still susceptible to being outboxed, especially by a taller guy. Last night just drove that point home.
What sense does it make that I beat Angulo and now he gets to fight for the interim title, when I am the top contender, asked Cintron. I have done nothing but bide my time waiting for Dzinziruk, and now Im on the outside looking in. http://boxingtalk.com/pag/article.php?aid=18569
