Manassa, do you think that Armstrong could/would have beaten SRR, maybe at lightweight, when he was in his prime and Robinson was still a bit green? Or as close as he ever was to being green I suppose.

Nature itself confirmed the historical magnitude of Armstrong's surge in 1938...

Hurricane Henry took his third world title in three divisions ~33 days before the Great Hurricane of 1938 devastated three geographical areas -Long Island, New York, and New England.

    ...numerology confirms it as well.

    Armstrong truly is brillaint.

I would say Lightweight is probably the worst of his weights and still what he accomplished there is as much as some guys accomplish in a career.

So basically Armstrong had 2 great careers at Feather and Welter and a good one at Lightweight if you get me?

    absouloute class

and definitly top 5 offence, it was amazing he didnt give NO-ONE room.

He didn't do as much at LW but lets not forget that he weighed 135 or less for nearly all of his prime fights. At 135 he rates head-to-head as well as he does at any other weight, maybe even better.

The horrible thing is that there are scientists who make a living out of such stuff and even annoy average citizens with that kind of crap. :-(

I just gave you a run-down of his wins at the weight within a short space of time. Hardly awful unless you're a no-knowledge hoodlum who's into beastiality. In that case...

Yeah, I reckon a young Robinson would have been out of his depth against a seasoned, primed Armstrong of 1938 and drop a decision.

Agreed. I've previously had to argue with people who said Armstrong was not at his best as a LW even though he weighed 133 for arguably his best ever performance against Barney Ross.

"KTFO", I don't see what's so awful with Armstrong's accomplishments at featherweight. Perhaps you should explain what you mean with this "newspaper title" you keep talking about.

As far as I know he unified the NBA and NYSAC titles and was recognized as the legitimate World and Ring Magazine featherweight champion.
