He's a participant in 3 divisions ... and he's won two titles against three of the best LHW's in the last 5 yrs. I like B-hop but I think he's overrated in the LHW division, with his only wins coming against Tarver and an under sized Winky Wright ... I don't know if I would classify the Pavlik win as a LHW bout, it was at a catchweight in the range of LHW but Pavlik campaigns at super middleweight at best. Pavlik and Wright haven't made a full comitment above 168 lbs (as far as winning "ships" and fighting top 15 guys of that division).

Dawson fought and Beat Adamek (former LHW & CW champion, who is fighting at HW now) Dawson stands to be Adamek's only L on his resume. He beat Tarver and Johnson who were atop of the division since the dimise of RJJ.

Dawson also has went through middleweight, super middleweight, and light heavyweight. He's won minor titles in all three weight classes and has won 2 major titles at LHW.

There's no reason why many guys in the top 10 be ranked above him when he's proven that he can handle going up in weight and his build allows him to.

I would have to rank Dawson above a majority of the top 10 ...

When is it going to happen?

He's in my opinion the #1 guy in the division ... he's on his way to greatness and is in my top 5 p4p.

No disrespect to Hopkins but he's babysitting that #1 spot ... Dawson is more accomplished than Hopkins at LHW.

    Thoughts????

Chad hasn't unified, he hasn't gotten the lineal title, he hasn't beaten either of the top 2 175 fighters. He's defeated 3 former, current, or future titlests.

David Haye has now gotten a title at 2 divisions, defeated a man 100 lbs bigger, and unified Cruiserweight (a deeper division) via knockout, including knocking out Mormeck on his own turf. He's also defeated more titlists (4) than Dawson (3).

So, the question I have is, why should Dawson rate higher than Haye?

Well small heavies, but in particular heavies who have moved up in weight like Haye can be rated.

Its ridiculous having Vitali in there for instance, due to his massive physical advantages having a lot to do with his success. Take them away and tell me he is elite? No, he is not P4P very good.

But I agree, dawson is underrated and has some good wins, has shown some excellent skills. Definately low top 10 for me.

Top 10 Pound for Pound has to include David Haye now for his accomplisments. Undsiputed linear criuserweight takes heavyweight title in Deutschland against someone 100 pounds heavier, a foot taller without taking a shot.

This is the equivalent of Floyd Mayweather (last fighting weight 146) V Wlad Klitschko (last fighting weight 241).

That's not how you determine P4P status. Jesus christ this forum is full of people that don't know the first thing about boxing.

Dawson should most definitely be included in the Top 10. He looked sharp as hell last night. Showed a lot of maturity and poise.

I can only tolerate so much stupidity. Welcome to my ignore list.

    Back on topic.

I am a fan of Dawsons. If people want to rank him in the top ten I wont say that's wrong. I probably have him hovering around 10-15.
It's not like he has done anything wrong, just so far the competition hasn't been there for him. Beating Tarver and Johnson is good, not great. Beating Adamek is really good. Add it all up and soon he will be undeniably top ten.

If he beats the winner of Pascal/Diaconu or Cloud then I would say he has stamped his position in the top ten, maybe around 7-8.
