Running is not 'defense' or 'ring generalship' like the nuthuggers are trying to say it is.

I really can't agree it was running; Haye looked collected, calm and controlling throughout, which doesn't imply running to me. He looked like he was carrying out a gameplan he'd obviously trained for.

As a genuine question, were you expecting him to go toe to toe from the opening bell with Valuev?

I expected him to at least engage and trade with Valuev just like Chagaev did. That is what he claimed he was going to do.

Instead he ran the whole fight. It was awful.

 

You can win a fight moving backwards, but you need to throw punches. What Haye did is not moving, it's running.
