Well, Valuev shouldn't really have been in the top 10. What with 11 months inactivity and the gift over Holyfield.
Well, Well, Well, A lot of you guys were picking ko, but he got the points win. I was right at least on it going the distant.
Good point with the inactivity and gift decision comment. I still think Chagaev, and Povetkin should be ranked above Haye.
Valueav is a stylistic nightmare for Haye?:huh How about Haye is overated. You fell for his big mouth.
Nah, a 100lbs difference in body weight is an easy thing to overcome , especially for someone who has been inactive as Haye, and who by his own admission, hurt his hand early on. People saying the Klitschko's are more exciting, when the hell were they ever undersized to that degree? Never, and they never will be. Haye overcome special circumstances, and it doesn't matter that some won't give him credit, they weren't going to give him any regardless of whether he knocked the big man out or not.
A 46 year old worn out all time great overcame far more odds to do a better job than Haye did. Whats your excuse now?
Congratulations to Evander, and congratulations to Haye. Unlike you, Lefthook, I'm not a bitter agenda driven dummy.
Not at all, both fighters deserves credit for fighting effectively against such a huge specimen. You chose to ignore that part of my post...because you're an agenda driven dummy.
Whats my agenda? Im simply pointing out that he talked a pretty big game all through the Klitschko fights and this one. He didnt really back it up did he? I know your sensitive about Haye, but come on, does he look like the emerging dominant force in the heavyweight division we need? Huge specimin or not, weve seen several challengers fight to just about the same type of performance or better and not get the nod against Valueav. That would be my agenda if any, pointing that out. I have nothing against Haye, and actually I was hoping he would score a spectacular knockout win, it certainly would setup some nice unification fights with the Klitschkos.
I actually think Haye COULD'VE delivered that, but he didn't believe in it or went for the "safe" Holyfield/Donald/Chagaev strategy. Which i thought was going to cost him the fight, giving how the judges have favored Valuev in close fights (i had it a draw). But seeing how he landed often when he opened up, and hurt him in the 12th, i think he could've gotten a stoppage if he had been more aggressive. Then again, maybe he would've run out of gas...
I just Had an awful thought. If Haye is the Champion, and Valuev has just lost and needs to beat a contender to get another chance, wouldnt that (assuming rankings were on the level) mean that the two top contenders would be Ruiz or HOlyfield (both of whom ran the previous champion extremely close, some say beat him). If so, surely they wouldnt order the no 1 and no 2 contender to fight an elimination for the mandatory spot, would they?
Ruiz has a mandatory shot against Haye next Im pretty sure. I think people might be suprised how tough that fight is going to be.
in the end, just verdict or not, we should be thankful that Haye at least temporarily disposed of this fraud. Now, he needs to mix it up with Povetikin, Peter, Chagaev or the likes. These could be exciting fights.
