Look at all these people giving Haye **** for not standing toe-to-toe Hello people, Haye was at a 9inch and 100lbs weight disadvantage, it's ****ing stupid to try and stand toe-to-toe to with someone like that. It's called strategy, and Haye won because he picked a strategy that worked and he stuck with it. That deserves some respect. It wasn't a stellar performance, obviously, but at times he made Valuev look like an amatuer and the bit right at the end of the fight where he had Valuev rocked was superb. Like Zakman said, I wish he had fought the whole fight like that too, but if he had he would've probably been knocked out.
I dont say anything about Haye chances vs Klitsckos, because he is a boxer and they are boxers too and every boxer is beatable. Only two things: 1. Valuev was the worst to watch and low-skilled HW champ of all time and hail to the Haye and judges that he is not champ anymore 2. The fight was so close and ugly to watch. Its not what most of fans expected and what Haye used to talk before. I expected Haye to at least knock down this slow boxer-wannabe. I was very disappointed and Haye lost some of his myth in my eyes. Althought I am very happy that he won :happy
Its what I say, hail to Haye for this. But what he proved in that fight is that he has got really weak chin, if he was to scared to try knock Valuev down/out. Valuev doesnt have a punch. He is slow and throw punches without body rotation, using mostly the power of his triceps. These punches are very predictable, so as fast (and strong) fighter as Haye should have find the way to knock him down. The proper way was to throw cominations, but he realised it too late - in 12th round.
Haye didnt have broken hand in first 2 rounds and he wasnt the dominating side in the fight at that moment.
Yep, direct that post to every idiot on here giving Haye ****. They are just pissed off because Haye did not tire and get knocked out like they thought he would (I personally thought he would tire late too). He boxed well and became a heavyweight champ, stop giving him **** and be pleased we have a heavyweight champ who will (and always has) gone anywhere in the world to fight the best he can. He may lose to the Klits and that is a fair assumption, but at least he is willing to fight them and he will do in time. If you disagree....sod ya!
Ok so now that he didn't nail him within 6 minutes is the issue? atsch When you were typing that couldn't you see the line of perspective - even in the rear view mirror?
haye is a more reliable judge of that than you :deal valuev landed one punch in 12 rounds of boxing - get over it for ****s sake.
Dumb post. Really dumb post. First two rounds? If he had your boxing brain he would have been knocked out in the 1st. he was FEELING Valuev out you ****ing cretin. That is all
I totally disagree. Haye should have aggressively whipped in inside with a whirl wind of punches but he was to timid to try and almost got beat First he breaks muscles in his back and now his hand? Every body hurts their hands but where is the proof that he broke it?
Broken hand is a "red herring" - why offer an injury as an excuse when you've won unless it was hurt? He could have said - "...yeh so I took a look at him for a few rounds, decided it was best to do it from the outside..." People looking for an excuse to criticise
Obviously to excuse his boring performance and boost his marketability. Ha ha..Haye is the rudest crudest criticizer in boxing.
Haye did NOT hurt his back, Setanta was going bust and the fight needed to be cancelled as they were paying him. He ain't gonna fight for free is he? Do some ****ing homework before you open that ****ing hole in your face PLEASE!
