The Ring lacks credibility as well - Mayweather inserted above Cotto at WW for beating a LW who was at his best at SFW? ****ing joke. It's as nonsensical as any of the orgs, just without the sanctioning fees.

chances are he will defend against ruiz, then lose it to vitali, who will then retire- and so the cycle continues...

It may be the oldest title. It has still managed to lose more credibility than any other title.

I expect even someone who won the IBO title to call themselves world champ. That doesn't mean that the boxing public will credit it.

Haye has got some taste of unifying before at cruiser, if anyone should be able to keep teh WBA strap in perspective it is him. Except he isn't great at perspective.

Yep. Not to mention the lack of ability to enforce decent title fights, so you get the bull**** at light heavy with the old men of Hopkins, Jones Jr, Tarver etc having their little seniors tour merry-go-round with teh ring belt.

They're all ****. The WBC is run by a lunatic, who invents **** like Emeritus status on a whim.

(Is it retrospective? Can a 75 year old Lennox Lewis come out of retirement and claim a title shot straight away? Why not retire every time you don't like the mandatory, and "come back" when the guy you want to fight is champ?)

The IBF is pretty ****ing dodgy too.

And the WBA has been Don Kings plaything for so long it's a joke.

They're all as bad as each other.

And if you want to play "the WBA is not legit because they stripped Chagaev" - then the IBF isn't legit, because they stripped Lewis when he was champ.

    See how this game works?

What you say pretty much hits the nail on the head.

My major gripe with the Ring belt is how the champ can hold the belt hostage. I'd like to see the belt be vacated if the champ does not fight the no#1 or no#2 challenger within 6 months or so.
There are other flaws it has such as bias etc.

The WBC has also pulled similar **** to the WBA; creating bogus multiple versions of the one belt.

I still would say that the Ring is the best of a bad bunch, and that the WBA has been so godawful that they have dropped from being as bad as the WBC and IBF to being as bad as the WBO and IBO.

The WBA is no less credible than any of the other sanctioning bodies. Kessler, Mosely, John, Marquez, and Darchiyan all hold WBA belts. The WBA actually stacks up pretty well against the WBC, WBO, and IBF.

David Hype is a champ, so stay tuned for FOTY: Hype vs HuggyBear!!!

Any ABC organization which have HuggyBear fighting for the title as a mandatory is worthless!!!

Apparently, it is. Boxing orgs still rule when it comes to big money fights.

Valouev was not the WBA champion, he lost it to Chagaev and Vlad beat Chagaev. Valouev was given the title, then they gave it to Haye. Holyfield did more to beat Valoeuv that Haye, so did Ruiz.
