Calderon is one my favourite fighers, but he's old and on the slide and his last couple of performances have not been great. I could't really justify giving him a place any higher than #9 or #10 at this stage in his career.
1. Manny Pacquiao 2. Miguel Cotto 3. Shane Mosley (Can be changed with Cotto) 4. B-Hop 5. Ivan Calderon 6. Nonito Donaire 7. David Haye 8. Chad Dawson (Can be changed with Haye) 9. Mikkel Kessler 10. Paul Williams
I don't agree with it, but I like this list. It makes more sense than a lot I've seen. But where the hell is Mayweather?

p4p means? who seems the strongest/skilled at there weight compared to others? or who is the strongest in their natural weight, or who is the most popular Boxer on a role? I agree with the poster that hw s should be included, who could agree? that the only agreeable thing is that there is a tie for first 1 Floyd 1 Manny and not until they fight each other will it be decided
Yea they havent been that great but Also he has been fighting good competition as well. I believe he os 33-34 so he is gradually slowing down but based off his skills, record, mand being a 2 weight champion he has to make the list:smoke I think he is the best pure boxer in the game, he has all the moves, slips , dips, hand speed reflexes with zero power.
1 manny pacquaio - floyd mayweather jnr 3 shane mosley 4 miguel cotto 5 Juan manuel marquez 6 bhop 7 izzy 8 rafa marquez 9 paul williams 10 wlad izzy, rafa and bhop moved down recently due to inactivity pushing for a place are haye, vitali, donaire, john, calderon, pavlik, dawson and abraham. prospects for top 10 p4p are khan, bradley, berto, lopez, bute, cloud, valero as always somebody will have slipped my mind completely and ill prob have to edit it
Yeah, as we talked about yesterday I think you have a point here. On the plus side Williams will fight anyone...is a 2 division champ...has solid wins in 3 weight classes and easily moves between weights. On the flip side he's yet to prove himself the man in any division, and his best wins are against the limited Margarito and an old Winky. When you also factor in the Quintana loss, there's not really much there. I think I will be moving him down, but don't want to be doing it without careful consideration.
P4P is a subjective way to list the best fighters in the world regardless of weight class. One of the main criteria should be how they performed in recent fights. Floyd is a welterweight, who recently went to the distance with a Lightweight, and hasn't fought for a year and half before that. There is no way he should be ranked above Pacquaio at this stage, although I agree that Pac and FMJ are the clear one and two.
1. Manny Pacquiao 2. Floyd Mayweather 3. Bernard Hopkins 4. Shane Mosley 5. JMM 6. Miguel Cotto 7. Paul Williams 8. V. Klitschko 9. W Klitschko 10. Nonito Donaire
Why - this is a p4p list - not a ATG list. Hopkins fought a great fight vs. Pavlik, who was famours because of wins vs. Miranda and Taylor. Abraham beat Miranda twice and Taylor once. Hopkins could lose to Ademek, Jones, Dawson, Bute, Kessler, Abraham and Taylor............
Whilst this was the original definition of P4P, I think you have to start factoring in resume as well....as there have been many examples of fighters that "looked" great but never amounted to that potential. I made a point yesterday regarding Carl Froch. Here's a guy I think is a very limited boxer and I nearly always pick against him...yet if you look at his last 3 wins (undefeated now LHW titlist Pascal, former MW champ Taylor, undefeated Dirrell) in comparison to some of the other fighters who get mentioned as P4P material, he actually has a better resume. Tell me that resume isn't better than Williams, Dawson, Abraham, Calderon, Kessler, John etc. Just a point.
I think it's unfair to drop him without first seeing his performances and also seeing what other fighters are doing/have done after the events but can see your point of view.
