Even before he announced his public "plans" guys on here particuarly wlad/vitali fans were saying he would be kod in the first round. As shown in the 12th round, had haye started like he ended he probabkly would have knocked valuev out sooner..that shot was not even on his chin. Theres a difference between less agressive and fighting scared. Since steward took over wlad has become more rigid and ultra careful = no entertainment value. Yes he has a shakey chin but at times he has his opponenet sitting there waiting to be taken out but yet decides to throw jab after jab because hes afraid of being hit. When he does get hit he goes into protection mode! Time will tell what haye will end up doing but id rather watching haye in action(barring his last fight) than a wlad fight.
So, now he's fought an actual fairly challenging Heavy, he's found out he can't just blast them out and bully them like in the crusiers? You do have to have a strategy. You do have to be patient. You do have to box. You do have to wait for the openings. Wlad anyone?..................
I thought Haye was hard on Wlad for that fight againt Sultan. A guy smaller than him. A guy he seemed afraid to engage with AT ALL . Most of that fight Wlad didnt even throw proper snapping jabs. He did worse than simply " pawing " with it. He swong it around to slap Sultan's arm away . He used it to try and blind Sultan. He used it to knock his guard down too. These should be completely seperate issues here. Haye was fighting a giant. 300 + pounds. Wlad was fighting a blown up Cruiser:deal
:huh I think you're grabbing at straws in trying to find a way to discredit Haye. Wlad fought his mandatory and now Haye is going to do the same, that's all that's happening here. Virtually all boxers spout off various **** to suit there needs at the time, Haye is no different.
No..that was only the second time he went 12 round and that includes fighting 2 HW's (bonin and barrett). He fought that way because thats the only way you can beat valuev. Although as he showed in teh 12th has he fought his normal way he would have knocked him out in my opinion, Against Riuz he will go back to his counter punching/powerful strategy. Wlad fights scared/negative in every fight. I want to like the guy i really do but he is god awful to watch!
Relevant. Haye said that boxing was going to die because of the Klitschkos. Then Haye had this horrendously boring fight, and it was amazing and the media are lapping it up. Boxing is no different than it ever was. You only feel that it might be because the media have given you a new star to follow. Nevermind that the fight was a borefest and haye is nothing special.
time will tell. Wlad will fight scared as usual and i fancy haye will ko him..if he nearly knocke out valuev with a left uppercut to his cheek Wlads chin will get shattered with his money punc.the straight right! Vitali is a pick em fight.....I do like the guy, never backs out of a fight, has power and a great chin BUT he is getting old and much slower. That would go either way.. Next summer i fancy well find out..
Have you seen any of Hayes other fights? I'm guessing not else you wouldn't be trying to label him as a boring fighter
I agree with some of that. Although I do believe he injured his hand, but it didn't look HORRIBLY swollen or broken to me. Still, it was damaged. I do not think it was a huge factor in how he fought. Yeah, he talked all the stuff about being new and exciting, and explosive and how he's gonna score a KO. But he boxed a tame fight. Anyway, I would still like to see him become what he promised. And Wlad's bored be far more times than Haye. I'll be rooting for Haye IF they ever fight. Haye needs to fight Ruiz, and KO him quick.
haypocrite! great point Yale, haye is a hypocrite. he boxed smart and cautious and defensive, must have been inspired by his hero Wlad. BTW Wlad is the real WBA champ - for whooping Chagaev. haye is wearing a fake WBA belt.
