Well, putting on 71 pounds since their 2001 Amateur World Championship final in Belfast might not be the best way for Odlanier Solis to prepare for a repeat performance of his damn exciting stoppage win over David Haye, but I guess we can forget about him looking ripped like the Hayemaker - and you know what? After blowing away Monte Barrett in two, he might be the best fat heavyweight out there (there should be a top10 for that too, & I'm sure the WBC can come up with an appropriate belt for these guys).

Anyway, Solis is in confident mood, here's what La Sombra has to say:
"I've already proven that I can stop David Haye. I'm ready to repeat in the pros what I did to him back in the amateurs."

Speaking of that fight... here's a copy, enjoy if it's your first or enjoy for the ###th time:

So what are his chances against a top, athletic David Haye in 2010 - fat chance?

I don't think that footage of their amateur fight means anything anymore. Also if it was a pro fight it might be a KO1 Haye. Solis is too fat to be a contender, I know everybody pretends that it doesn't matter because he knocked out Barrett in 2 but once you get to a world championship level it shows. Also when Haye beat Barrett he was coming off of a huge knockout of Tye Feilds and actually hoping to get back in the HW picture, when Monte face Solis he was simply an opponent.

Solis will lose weight before fight for title I'm sure . Now he does't care becouse he has still very fast hand. He can beat Haye I give 60/40 for Solis.

    How?:huh
Haye's at least ten times faster on his feet, that's for sure!

What did David do so badly against Valueless that made you think Solis would easily destroy him?

Haye would have stopped Solis in the first had that been a pro bout, whereas Solis gained a typical soft amateur stoppage due in large part to Haye gassing.

Well Haye got knocked down by Barrett and it took more rounds for Haye to beat Barrett than it took for Solis. Solis would probably KO Haye if they meet in the ring again.

:happyThis fight has to happen! Solis beat him in the amateurs and most definitely will beat Haye again! I really think that Haye wants no part of the Cuban Solis as he knows that he is in serious trouble. Look at how Solis handled Barrett, way easier than Haye, not even a match! Barrett knocked down Haye and made him look very shaky and vulnerable! :yep:good

Why are you so sure about that? It was a good shot, bit Solis was also off balance. For all we know Solis could've got knocked down and then recover with Haye still gassing.
But, this match was in 2001(!) and that's nearly a decade ago.

Why do you think Haye wants no part of Solis???!
He has bigger fish to fry..namely the klitschkos after ruiz..Sois is a fat chump fighting others left overs.

The ... Klitschkos? Is there a fight vs. an unknown 3rd brother Haye hasn't "backed out" of yet? :think And wasn't Barrett a Cliff Couser and Valuev a Ruslan Chagaev (and Evander Holyfield) leftover? Don't get me wrong, Solis is a fat chump. Just don't be so sure he'd be the chump once the rematch is over.
