Could HBO Make David Haye A Household Name?

    I cant see Haye being around for years to come as champion, but will be exciting while he is here.

    Well it won't be against John Ruiz HBO has said they will NEVER put him back on TV. Comes straight from an HBO Boxing executives mouth. :deal

    I can't believe how famous he's suddenly become in England. Most of my mates didn't know who he was until the Enzo Mac fight, but even after that he was just known by some sports fans. Now everyone is talking about him, he's on every news/affairs programme, back pages of every paper, was on the front page of the BBC Sport website for the last 2 days. Amazing what difference being a Heavyweight Champ makes to being a Champ in the lower divisions.

    There are only a few household names in boxing. Oscar De La Hoya, Mike Tyson, Evander Holyfield. Maybe Mayweather and Pacquiao now.

    So I doubt it.

    A few good KO wins and some mud-slinging before hand and he will surely be a household name. He's had 24 fights, won 23 with 21 KOs, that's an 87% KO ratio. He is the only person to rock Valuev in 53 fights. He's already unified the cruiserweight belts and now is World Heavyweight Champion in only his 3rd fight in the division. He has got the skills and the power to challenge the Klitchkos and is the only exciting heavyweight around at the moment. I, for one, am really excited about the HW division for the first time in years and i hope he unifies the belts. There seems to be a few people trying to discredit him and label him a boring fighter (LOL) and maybe these people should watch his previous fights before judging....
