    More from Steve Kim....

    ----------------

    - You guys know about Dec 19th with Pavlik, Im hearing it's pretty close to being a done deal. I'm told that if they get through this fight clean, they will still pursue a fight with Paul Williams. We'll see

    - HBO, because of the Winter Olympics, will for the most part, take Feb and March off. Huh, who they hell gives a flying fudge about slalom skiiing- I know boxing fans don't

    - Brian Viloria makes his next defense of his IBF 108-pd belt on Jan 23 in the Philippines against Juan Carlos Tamara. This weekend he is working the broadcast of Pac-Cotto for Solar Sports

    - Sergio Mora might be signing a promotional pact with Golden Boy

I just want to get one thing straight, maybe I'm reading something wrong... what I seem to see on my screen is that after several postponements and scary news of life and death situations which made us boxing fans really worried, after cancelling the Williams fight yet again due to severe health issues and major problems with recovery leaving Team Williams and HBO out in the cold in a truckload of dog ****, and 4 days after Team Williams announced the Sergio Martinez fight for December... KELLY PAVLIK RETURNS TO THE RING IN A WORLD TITLE FIGHT IN... ****ING DECEMBER?

    ... 2009 December?

    Next month December?

    The-month-of-Williams-Martinez-December?

    Is this a joke? :think

And if it's not, what should an average fan, Team Williams, and HBO think seeing Kelly Pavlik defending the belt in the same month he signed to fight Paul The Punisher Williams, but pulled out, because he couldn't?

I'm from Columbus, Oh and have always felt some pride toward Pavlik for being an active champion from my state, and as such I've always been a huge fan of his!

But this is absolute bull****. I've defended Pavlik since the whole hand issue came out, but come on! He pussed out fighting against williams, and I won't be convinced otherwise! How could he and/or his team think it was a good idea to fight, what, 7 days after williams? Like that would give a good image? **** Pavlik, I'll never order a PPV of his ever again because he obviously is too much of a ***** to fight the best of the best, and then make up some injury concept as a cop-out.

    For what it's worth :hi:

all he needed was two weeks past the dec. 5th date w/ williams. williams didnt want to and wanted a fight on the 5th...be it pav or whoever. pav cannot be ready to fight someone of williams talent by then. he can, however, face someone of lesser talent a couple weeks later.

as my boy pipe would say, "damn this is just giving the haters ammo." but in reality, this isnt that hard to wrap your head around if you just take off the pav hate goggles and look at it objectively (which i know is hard for some to do).

that doesnt mean that williams should have waited...i'm not saying that. all it means is that pav's camp needed a few more weeks, didnt get it, and settled on a stay busy fight.

You really have the blinders on today. He asked Williams to postpone two weeks. Turns out, he IS able to fight on that date as he said. Not blaming Williams for not waiting though.

aint worth **** my man. aint worth ****. you may want to follow along as this develops...you say you have but its clear you havent. but don't worry, if blind haters are where you wanted to be, trust me, your among friends...

the hand is staph free...it was when the doctors told him when the williams fight was made for the 5th. the problem was he couldnt make a fist b/c of the ligaments and **** in his hand werent healed yet. they ask for two more weeks. williams camp didnt want to wait. i can't say i would have waited either. i'm not blaming williams for saying **** it i'm fighting on the 5th. so, he's fighting...get ready for this...two weeks later!! also, if you have followed pav like you said you have, you would know that jack has said repeatedly since the bhop fight that if pav aint 100%, he aint gettin in that ring. he also said, rightfully so, that if we arent 120% for paul, were not fighting.

when i heard about this i knew pav was gonna catch ****. but what can you do.

I haven't seen anything where Pavlik asked to move the fight to the 19th. I read where they tried to move the fight to January. I also read where the promoters gave Pavlik the option to move up to 168 or fight Willliams on the 19th. Now I don't know if Teams Williams or Pavlik balked on that idea. What I do know is that Pavlik has now cancelled 3 times when faced with a solid to good opponent but has had no problems fighting when facing a straight ahead fighter with little skill.

I"m sorry but you can make excuses for him all you want, but this is still crap. Yes, the Hopkins fight showed he shouldn't fight if he's not 100%, so how about we let "the ligaments and **** in his hand" that weren't healed yet have a little more time then two extra weeks to heal, shall we? I'm sorry, but if his hand was so ****ed up that he had to postpone twice, and I've seen the pictures so I agree that it is, then tell me why he's going to fight now? Either he over exaurated how badly he couldn't close his hand, or he's about to go into another fight not 100% and rub that raw skin in a dirty glove and watch as the staph comes back. Whatever :good

Bottom line, Pavlik is returning from a staph infection, which is serious business. I'd much rather see him work out the kinks against a lesser opponent opposed to returning against a live dog, who may be capable of beating when he's healthy, let alone with possibly lingering effects from an injury.

When Pavlik fights Williams he should be certain he's fully free of infection. That way they'll be no room for excuses when it's all said and done.

i wasnt happy when the williams fight was put off again. i don't blame williams for saying **** it. i am worried that the hand won't be fine. he can get some rounds under his belt against this guy in a tune up fight then fine...i know it will catch **** but he's gotta get in the ring.

Well, "hey Team Williams, it turned out that I can fight in December, but don't worry, we don't blame you for not fighting us", how's that sound? Why not simply "it's your fault not believing a single word coming from us after months of postponements, and fighting dangerous Martinez on short notice, but hey, you had the blinders on, so we forgive" :patsch I'm really curious to hear Williams and HBO's reaction, I mean coffee on the monitor/newspaper for sure...

There is a certain fighter out there who pussied out of a signed fight vs. a certain boxing brother due to medical reasons (playing the postponement card), only to end up fighting a lesser certain biggest ever HW paperholder, and that individual got his head ripped off by boxing media and fans for doing that, but even he never dared stepping into the ring in the month of the very fight he cancelled with injury excuse... a certain fat boxing writer calls that individual a joke and a coward ever since... I wonder what's his reaction will be... I'm just saying, it's a funny situation, so expect some harsh words. I for one, being shocked, actually happy to hear that Pavlik is fight-ready, that's all I have to say. But Team Williams might not be so generous.
