There will be another Tsunami caused by tears......I really feel bad for them on this one. Most that I talk to are really good hearted folks that just flat out love Manny and believe in him....can't blame them for that.

I just try to soften the fall a bit by letting them know that Manny will be

That might well happen. But you just know Manny will put forth his best effort and a loss to Cotto in an attempt at a title in a 7th weight class will only reveal one more thing: That Manny will handle a loss with class, give Miguel his respects and reassess what he wants to do there.
