Pavlik went from almost dead... to fighting dec 19th

All will be forgiven when they announce Pavlik-Bute after the fight on Dec. 19th.

The answer here is obvious. Professor Bernard Hopkins not only gave Pavlik a severe ass whuppin but also took his heart when he schooled him. He did the self same thing to Tito Trinidad, he was never the same fighter after Professor Hopkins lecture ROFL

 

Most proffessional boxers do not fear anyone. Doubt if KP is afraid of Williams. Most likely he realized that he needed to get some ring rust off before he stepped in there with somewone as talented as the Punisher.

I give up. He said he needed two more weeks to be physically ready because of the hand. HBO came up with the date. I don't remember the specifics, at this point. I read this site too damned much and too many idiots making stuff up and quoting each other until they think this **** is FACT.

Team Williams said the only way they would possibly not fight Kelly Pavlik is if he was dead!!!!!!!! They staged a damn funeral just so he could get out of the fight!!!

This dont look very good. We can argue from now to forever, and it would never change that it dont look good. Ducking Williams or not. If it looks like a duck, waddles and quacks its a ****ing duck. And this looks like a duck.

If a fighter like Jones or Mayweather had done something like this they would be getting blasted from every side. But Calzaghe does it with Johnson and now Pavlik with Williams and all you hear is excuses about two weeks this and that.

As far as the two weeks thing goes and Pavlik not being cleared?? Well that is just bull****. He pulled out of the fight several weeks ago, not knowing how he would heal, shortly after Williams signs to fight someone eles Pavlik drinks the magical wine and now he is fine and ready to go.

I was a Pavlik fan from way back, before anyone eles was even talking about him. I remember starting a thread and having half the posters that responded saying "Kelly who?" But this is were I get off, if Kelly would have just fought someone in the top 20 it could be excuses but to fight someone that wouldnt make most peoples top 50 at the weight after fighting a bum the fight before makes it pretty hard to excuse.

 

It must be awesome to be a Pavlik fan.

Instead of watching him fight Paul on HBO, you now get to pay extra to watch him fight a scrub at the local VFW.

Maybe Jack is scared of HBO since his last couple of fight's on their have been massive failures.

My take is he wants to get back in the ring for several reasons. I think it is no accident this fight is at the two week mark that he asked for. It may be meant to show the boxing world he would have been ready had Williams waited. Now, the choice of opponent could either tell a different story or it may have been all they could find on short notice at the price they were willing to pay. Kelly will not make the money he is accustomed to out of this fight, that I can pretty much guarantee you. I think it is pretty obvious he will sell out the house though so he gives his Youngstown base another jolt.

Is it the fight we wanted? Not by a long shot but he needed to do something. And he may be testing the hand out.
