Certainly better than most in the super six, and more deserving than Ward, Dirrell and Abraham.

I am Canadian and he is a great fighter - MAY be better, but it is ridiculous to claim so now. Kessler and Abraham must CLEARLY be rated higher at this time. But yeah I think Bute is a fantastic fighter and time will tell...

Everyone thought Hopkins was going to lose to Pavlik. Angulo was going to run over Cintron, Foreman was going to destroy Ali.

The history of boxing is filled with "easy" predictions proven wrong.

Fact is, you can analyze and dissect the fighters and the fight all you want.

The only way for us to know what would really happen is for them to fight.

PS: I also think Bute would lose to Kessler.

 

Kessler get about 4 mill per fight in the super six.

So, no Bute is not getting paid as much - but that doesn't mean he couldn't beat them. I think he would do well in the Super Six. He may not win the whole thing, but he would do well.

 

You're so unconfident Maxime it's not even funny. Have you seen the Kessler-Lucas fight ? I bet you did see it. Now tell me that Bute wouldn't have knocked that version of Lucas out in less than 8 rounds with a straight face.

You're the second person I've seen who mention these ridiculously high purse numbers for Super Six fighters. Do you have any kind of proof to back these numbers?

I'm just curious because 4 millions is similar to what Kessler got for the Calzaghe fight. And that fight was much bigger then all the Super Six fights put together!

I personally think there is no way Showtime has the money to pay that kind of purses for every single one of Kessler's fights (plus the other fighters in the tournament).

 

I'm a fan of Bute but I'm also know him well and I know his flaws. I think Kessler's jab and precision would be too much for Bute. That's all.

 

I think I heard Sauerland say it in a video, but I am not sure where I heard it.

 

He's the #2 SMW behind Kessler.

Nothing's changed from 2008.

Bute is great - and in 2011 or 2012 he will be in some major fights.
