I know i'm minorty opinion on this....but I think both men will take eachother's shots pretty well....and I expect it to go the distance, unless cotto gets stopped on cuts....I expect a see-saw battle.....ironically, both guys are fast starters....but pacquiao opponents seem to be "shocked and awe" right after the first bell.....

I"m picking pacquiao by a close maybe SD over cotto...I think his hand speed and movement will allow him to rack up enough points to get the win.....cotto is the better "boxer" and will win his rounds as well....but manny will win on the cards due to activity....

true. my concern really is that cotto is one big mofo. i mean seriously man, just over 18 months ago thoughts of pac vs cotto were met by cries of murder murder.

at least it shows that pac has the balls to fight even true welters.:lol:

i just wish pac the best and it is truly agonizing to pick one over the other because both fighters are likable boxers.

both are great for the sport.

No, I think it would need to be accumulation. I don't think Pac's movement will keep him out of trouble. Cotto will focus on the body with his jab-left hook combo every time Manny makes a mistake. And he will make mistakes, just like he did against marquez. Cotto will have been working on landing the right hand, or feinting with it to get Manny to walk on to the left.

He's a supremely talented, very intelligent boxer.

I absolutely think so. Manny was able to knock the lights out of Hatton, there is no way in hell he cannot hurt Cotto with one of his straight left.

How come Oscar quit on his stool? Are you saying he got pissed w/ Pest Pac and he refused to continue?

Cotto was weaker at LWW, was bull-rushing in against Corley and got caught, but still proceeded to beat the utter **** out of Corley by the fifth.

Same with Judah - that moment of success in the first? Meant nothing, because Cotto gave him a thorough boxing lesson in the second.

Judah stunned Cotto multiple times with single punches. You're telling me Pac can't do that?

I think people are making too big a deal out of the weight. People were saying the same stuff about DLH/Hatton. Pac has also been sparring a junior middleweight the past few months. I don't think it's a cause for concern as long as Pac stays off of the ropes.

Why not? Pac power shot was already proven when he foughts bigger guys than him...Pac will win by K.O..

Did Judah fight Hatton and KO him in the second round too? No, so what the **** has Judah got to do with it? You can't use Judah as a comparison, because then you're suggesting Manny punches as hard as Judah.

Judah's a harder puncher than Manny by all relevant criteria. He's been knocking out guys at higher weights than Manny had ever fought previously his whole career. He is the only guy to have stopped Cory Spinks, even though he's faced bigger punchers than Judah himself in Mayorga and Taylor.

Judah managed to stun Mayweather a few times early on, something no-one else has done really, he got Kostya Tyszu with some good shots in the first of their match, until he did the chicken dance in the second. He had Clottey stung very seriously before allowing the fight to be stopped with that cut. These are bigger, tougher guys than anyone Manny has faced.

If Judah had been landing the sort of shots against Oscar that Manny was, Oscar would have been out.

Manny's power will not be effective against Cotto except in accumulation, using his speed - which is the one thing he really has going for him in this fight.
