I'm not a Pavlik hater, but I've to co-sign what you wrote. If Pavlik needs an interim fight against a mediocre fighter before fighting better competitors like PW he (or his management) shouldn't have signed the contract. Pavlik really makes a bad impression in public. Now it looks like he's scared to fight PW.
This is "Pullout" Pavlik to a tee... The guy has gone from somebody I respected for what he was to a ****ing buffoon I have no time for.
---------------------------- Why should Paul Williams fight Pavlik! He gave the guy 2 opportunities and Pavlik was unable to make either. Maybe Pavlik had a genuine injury but either way he missed the boat. Tell me something though, are you going to pay the ppv fee to watch Pavliks next fight?
Wow! You must be one of the handlers of Pavlik. Good post though. I think once they clear their respective fights then they can finally fight for all the marbles.
Pathetic on team Pavlik's part, atleast they could of made it seem they arent ducking Williams by having his tune-up fight a couple of weeks after Dec.5 and not just 2. Not only did they prevent a great middleweight fight from happening but they also prevented Mosley/Clottey from happening too to make way for this fight.

Debates like this is the reason why I never joined the forums 5 years ago when I first got on ESB! I'm a boxing fan first then a fighter fan second! It seems as if to many guys forget about the sport and fall in love with the fighter! Pavlik is just not good for boxing right now plain and simple!!!! He has to many issues and too many excuses! When he gets his head right maybe he will gain his respect back but as for now Pavlik fans can't promote this BS!!!!!!!

C'mon with the pictures now!!! You guys have been showing these pictures for months and now all of a sudden he's ready to fight 2 weeks later!!! No one says he wasn't sick or hurt but how fishy does it look that he pulls out of one fight and signs another 2 weeks later!!!
no, but i would understand if pav didnt want to push the fight off again if the shoe were on the other foot. i don't blame williams for saying **** it i'm not going to wait any longer. i went into more depth in wwm's thread. i know kelly's not happy w/ this either, he just wants to get in the ring. you see how much money he just lost?? those extra two weeks are all he's gonna need to get ready for espino. paul williams is no miguel espino.
the hand was staph free when he was told he could resume training. problem is/was, he couldnt make a complete fist b/c of the side affects of the surgery and the staph itself. he wouldnt have had a full camp by the dec. 5th date. pav needs rounds and those extra two weeks are all he's gonna need to get ready for espino. the people pointing out how serious staph is are correct. it is a very serious and sometimes fatal infection. the actual infection isnt the problem anymore, it was being able to make a fist and get a complete camp in. won't make a difference in most people's mind, i know. just saying though...
Kelly's hand is still not 100%. He was told he needed to defend his title SOON, by the WBC (Suliman). He told his Team to sign the fight, because he would rather lose the belts in the ring versus being stripped.
If this is true in anyway, another stupid move by the amateur Pavlik camp that has absolutely no leadership. Who lets their fighter do that??
