    COTTO HAPPY WITH WEIGHT DEAL

Miguel Cotto believes fighting Manny Pacquiao at 145lbs is to his advantage and not the Filipino's.:deal

The pair meet in Las Vegas on Saturday night for Cotto's WBO welterweight title, but with Pacquiao more used to fighting in lower divisions, the fight has been made at a catchweight of 145lbs - 2lbs below the regular welter limit.

However, Cotto says shedding an extra two pounds will not be a problem for him and that his power at the weight is likely to prove crucial to the outcome.
Asked about the issue, Cotto said: "When we took this fight we decided that we were fine with 145. We knew we could do it and we knew we would be at our best the next night.
"We would not have taken this fight if we didn't think I was going to be at my best the next night after the weigh-in

Cotto usually weighs in around 146lbs for 147lbs limit fights anyway. So losing an extra pound is nothing! LITERALLY!

Weight-wise it's a lot bigger task for Pacman. Just because he's fought at 147lbs doesnt mean nothing. He fought a shot oscar not a FOCUSED cotto.

I believe that that is the case in this instance.

If one fighter were demanding the other fought above his usual weight I would would say the fight was being held at the higher weight.

WE must also accept tha Pac has fought at 147 before, but refused to this time.

yes Pac has fought at 147, doesn't mean he has to again. Cotto DIDN"T have to take the fight at 145. but he did. So if he is anything less then 100% its his, and his alone, fault. same goes WhinyBoy ODH.

If you can't fight successfully at a certain weight, don't take the fight

He did, to make the fight; Pac was quite scared to fight at 147, otherwise why didn't he?

Pac Has NEVER faught at 147lb. he fought ODLH weighing in at 142lb way below the WW limit and there fore, by OT's logic never fought at welter weight.

what weight either has fought in the past has no bearing on the weight they will fight at on Sat.

whats next, Cotto is DQ for having more tats then he did against Clottey?

Bottom Line is that they both agreed to fight at 145. There are no excuses for either of them. Come prepared or be KO'd.

At the end of the day they both agreed to fight at 145, BUT the fight should be at 147, thats it.

Cotto needs to shed just 1 lb as compared to his last fight. Do you really think that Cotto will be so drained?
